I keep calling this my Tallyman army, and yet, there's no Epidemius pictured. Why is that? Because I don't like the fig they've got for him, and I've not been able to make one of my own that I really liked at all either. Looking thru the store's preview copy of the Skaven codex, I saw a picture of the fig for Headtaker Queek, and it's just a really cool fig. I knew I had to use it for something, and after a few moments thought, I realized he could be my stand-in for Epi. I'll call him one of the other Seven Plague Lords of Nurgle, but of course still use Epi's rules. Right now my thoughts for a name are Blight, Scourge, or Phage, though I'll probably ask my mother, a nurse, if she knows any good disease names I could use for him before I settle on one.
Very early WIP shot. I've removed the rat tail, base, and face, and Green Stuffed in a new face. One eye, less snouty, bit wider jaw so I could fit in a couple extra teeth to make it less rodent like. I think the overall feel of it has ended up being rather simian. I might have to lose the crested helmet if I think that's a problem, which I don't want to do because I rather like the helmet.

Some great work in this thread.
I have to say that I like the crest on the last model... it suits it well. Though the model as a whole could look a bit too much like it is dancing around like a monkey given the position of its raised leg.

S`ok, I stole it from someone else as well. I can't credit the original idea because I heard it much to long before I started this to remember who/where.

Messed with a few different means of mounting this guy on a base, and I think this is the one I like the best so far. No, I don't remember what that worm is from. It's something that's been sitting in the bitz box for years and years, and I even have a second one. Anyways... It clearly needs Green Stuff, and more Nurglings, but I think it gives him closeish to the height of Epidemius, and definitely a good second center piece fig next to The Fat Man.

Finished up the two Daemon Princes, one involving a good bit more customization than the other. I pretty much got rid of the apron on the butcher, and replaced it with the spare gut plate from the tyrant, and a GS chest plate for some form of armor, since they're pointed with Iron Hide. I like the little grots the ogres come with, and messed with one I think enough to call it a Nurgling.

Progress on the "counts as Epidemius" Herald. Decided I didn't like the little tentacles from the worm's mouth so I took those off. There were a couple little round pock marks where eyes would be, and I thought hey, let's put eyes there! I gave it arms mostly as an excuse to give it shoulders, the purpose of which are to help hide the metal rod and build up the area that connects the Herald itself to the worm. The rest of the GS is a clock tabard to hide the rest of the metal rod. Just needs more Nurglings on the base, which will be interesting since I've already used all five of the different metal ones, and trying to make something completely out of GS is still an iffy point for me.

Very nice work. Great idea in using the Skaven model and converting it for your purposes.
Have you thouht of using the plague monks as well.
I wanted to use them but sculpt their robes so that they cover the whole face. A full hood basically.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

This is odd, there seems to be some kind of odd colored pigment covering my Plaguebearers. This kind of thing doesn't usually happen to my armies. In fact, I think the last time it happened was just before `Ard Boyz `08, when my Necrons turned extra shiny and stuff. Should I be worried that it will spread to the rest of my Daemons?

Yep, seems to be a full blown outbreak of this pigmented contagion. The beasts have come down with a full blown case, and it's starting to spread over The Fat Man himself now too. It seems the extra armor on Phage and the Daemon Princes are protecting them for the moment, but I'm sure it's just a matter of time.

Every time I hear "in my opinion" or "just my opinion" makes me want to strangle a puppy. People use their opinions as a shield that other poeple can't critisize and that is bs.
If you can't defend or won't defend your opinion then that "opinion" is bs. Stop trying to tip-toe and defend what you believe in. |

That's what I was going for. The fluff for Beasts of Nurgle is that they are all happy and fun loving, just wanting to be friends, so I specifically altered the dogs to be less mean looking.

Typically get my Plasticard from Hobbytown USA anymore, as there's one maybe a half mile or so from my house. Hobby Haven has it cheaper, but they're a 20 minute drive off.
Anyways... It's The Fat Man himself. This is the first army I've Dipped, and I'm still getting the hang of it. The smaller figs worked great, but this much larger guy had some pool up in a couple areas. I worked to brush it out some, but missed a couple spots like his tongue.

Finally got around to painting this guy up. I dislike painting in general, and the much greater level of detail on this guy compared to the other Daemons really discouraged me. Starting up an official FLGS map campaign tomorrow and I don't want to go in with my General unpainted however, so I sucked it up and got him done.
