Skulltaker on Chariot meet Destroyers... ::shrug::

Though you are correct, Skulltaker bends C'Tan over his knee and laughs at their tears.

A special character option from Chaos Daemon codex. He is an insta-death generating machine. Not good for C'Tan.

Nightbringer is better if your facing an assault army (because you basically can't get assaulted....). Deciever for ranged or low toughness armys, or armys with terrible LD (like tau).

Overall, tho, C'tans suck. They drag your phase out too low

I own both C'tan models and when I do field them I switch it up occasionally. I've had more success with Deceiver because he can't be bogged down in assault, whereas Nightbringer can be bogged down with a squad of marines easily and only able to kill 2-3 per turn. Deceiver's abilities are kind of meh as most fearless armies are LD10 anyway, but pinning Kharn and a squad of 'zerkers is quite hilarious.

C'tan are seriously lackluster though, and I tend to leave them collecting dust on the shelf more than I do play with them. I really like the models and hope they get some nice upgrades to make them a real threat rather than a gimmick.

Night Bringer can throw any S4 or less models out of CC so how did he get bogged down?
You cant pin Kharn nor Zerkers as they are fearless
And i must say NightBringer destroys Vulkan lists with TH/SS termis (o no Invul save that sucks for you )
Over all Night Bringer is the way to go and i have killed so much with him it is not even funny

Because he can't throw back Str 4 units. he can throw back any unit of unmodified Str 3 or less.

Deceiver's pinning and morale check power ignores Fearless.

IMO, the Nightbringer is hands down the better option. However, the choice really comes down to cost. Can you afford to sink 60 extra points into a C'Tan? The Nightbringer really only has an extra attack and a Lascannon that the Deceiver doesn't have. The Deceiver has some tricks you can build an army around too.

This thing is an animal, not only is it a monstrous creature that ignores armour and rolls 2D6 for AP, its CC attacks also ignore invulnerable saves (also on P.27). Then if something manages to actually kill it in cc it has to face the ruptured Necrodermis S6 autohit within d6" with no armour save thus adding injury to insult :-)
