I totally agree with Mastiff!
I've come to realise there is a massive difference in the jpys to be had from painting an army, to painting a single character miniature.....I know this is probably obvious to many people, but I believe thats the point of Mastiff's comment.
Now bearing that point in mind, its interesting that they have made so many variants of the same character type....thats the realm of army miniature production! Surely.....on the flip side, maybe its just to add a little variance into the miniatue thereby giving the painter/modeller enough scope to create something relatively "unique"....
All in all, nice scuplts, I may have to check them out!

What I'm trying to say is; probably the scale down, multipart and multiples of same miniature is a new thing for them and their target is shifting to a hipotetical more profitable wargames field? Thats what I find very interesting.
Sorry, I just like to expose fans of 40k to other models, and tend to get a bit passionate about it. This wasn't meant to single you out, in the bad lighting I mistook you for a straw man.
Usually the reason they don't expand is start-up costs to reach a larger audience, but yeah, it would be great to see.
I'll move along now...

Believe me, I do really apreciate that and in my small ways I also try to do that with alternative lines such as Mercs, Infinity and now Soda pop etc. I think theres so many good minis outhere and some much superior sculpt and concept wise to 40k ones that everyone should know about.
Even if I also love 40k doesnt mean I cant also apreciate and collect other cool lines and paint them just for what they are.
In enigma case Im very hopefull for what they do in the future because now not only they do great detailed sculpts for painters but they are probably also stepping into other areas of modelism. Lets wait and see.

Those are nice models, I just prefer the more detached type.

Mastiff wrote:So to answer your question about why they pick a scale outside of the mass-combat scale, it's becasue that's not their audience.. It's like asking why anyone would buy a Lexus when they could buy a Chevy Cavalier for half the price. Each has their market.
Actually, the analogy isn't quite appropriate - both of those vehicles would be "daily drivers"; functional and usable in everyday endeavours - sort of like miniatures able to be used in a popular game played once or twice a week.
A more correct analogy would be why anyone would buy a Formula-1 racer when they could buy a Chevy Cavalier for half the price. The answer is - a Cavalier can get you to-and-from work, while the F1 will sit in your garage as a display piece.
What I'm not arguing is your intent - they are for very different purposes. I'd buy me the hell out of them if 1) they were cheaper, and 2) they were 28mm. And even though they aren't - they are hella beautiful.

Hehehe it is sort of funny when all of us who favor a "Who cares about brand name, I just want to use cool models!" argue different aspects of that!
The phrase "We are in violent agreement!" comes to mind

I'd like to know this as well, converting "loin cloth zombies" in to "mordern/future zombies" gets a bit tedious.
As for these minis, nicely sculpted, love the look, but couldn't think of anything I could use them for, shame really.
