Like what you've got going so far. I may convert some Hellguns myself now.
But breaking up the bolters distinctive profile seems to be an issue from what I am seeing.

I may try to make a 'floated barrel' look to draw the eye away from the bolters profile.

What do you mean floating barrel? Like a small barrel with a larger attached to that?

Quick update...still waiting on those darn plastic tubes...sigh.

However, I did a little more work on my models, enjoy.

Weapon side view and the hammer head with inquisitorial symbol out of green stuff.

Inquisitor with weapon, belt buckle and some purity seals, still working on her but this is the direction she is going.

Here is one of my projects for the next round...an assassin. Very, very early stage here.

That assassin looks very interesting. Caldius legs, servo skull from the devestators, but what is the torso?

And I think that the axe/hammer is just too big. The miniatures is great, but the weapon is large enough to take away from the rest of it. Maybe keep the power portion of the axe shaft, and replace the heads with something smaller?

Torso is a wood elf glade rider.

Still working on the weapon. Not 100% on it, thats why I havent glued on yet.

Way above you guys

All of this looks good - just as good as those nearly topless model's torsos...

Anyway, I think it'll all look more proportionate if you could envelop the hammer's shaft with green stuff, making it thicker and the hammer head smaller by comparison. Have you got photos of the bolters ejection slots with greenstuff filling?

I will take all the hammer advice into account, still deciding. I have just finished my last warrior henchman. Wanted him to stand out. He is definetley a veteran, aged, grizzled and sporting all the tricks of the trade.

Now I just have to wait for the plastic tubing...sigh. At any rate, I can now clean up the inquisitor and retinue and get to painting them while I wait.

Cool project! At this point you succeeded in making cool and interesting models without going over the top (which I think many deamonhunter armies does).

I just hope that you put some clothes on that inquisitor, maybe some armour and other cool stuff because with that tank top showing her belly and nearly half of her breasts it's a bit too much "barbie with guns" for me.

Solved the barrel issue...will post tommorow after I paint up a few troopers. The plastic tube came in but it is to small, so no go there.

Will have the inquisitor painted (started) tommorow and posted as well.

still not sold by the weapon. its mainly her pose....she seems to casual to be holding something larger than herself....but in 40k...bigger IS better....take the tyranids for example.... ripper small...ripper fail
heirodule big.....heirodule win....

Well, the size of the hammer/weapon can also be explained by an earlier post where he said in later months it would be changing to a demonhammer/forceweapon.

I am anxious to see what you have going for the guns now that you have decided on something, and waiting to see what direction you take with the paint on the inquisitor.

Well Im not happy with the way the inquisitor is turning out. I have my fall back inquisitor...this is not the final paint job...this is initial. Think I will stick with him for now and either change to her later or add her in one of the follow stages.

Here is my storm trooper with barrel and the paint scheme im going for...still not done but wanted to give an update. Yes I know the barrel is bent but I fixed that problem with my other models. Should see an update on more soon.

For some inspiration on the inquisitor you should take a look at the one Insaniak is working on. Granted, he is far more advanced than we will be for a long time both on his sculpting and modeling with plasticard. But the stuff he has going on with her is pretty amazing. Check on page 10, that is where his most recent pictures of her are. I think he starts working on her around 5 or 6 if you are interested in the early work. Insaniak's WIP Blog

Yep seen that. Love his work, it inspired me to do something similar with the rest of my assassins. The one assassin I posted will probably be scrapped as I am attempting to model my own. I will still use some bits but for the most part lower body and arms will be scratch built. If that works out then I will probably make a mold since I have the stuff to make a mold and cast. But all that is for the next 500 points.

Would it be possible to do that at the store? i would really like to learn how to do it.

Will be posting tonight my new paint job. Didnt want dull gray clothing so I hit it will foundation paints (yellow) and some sunburst yellow on the cloth. The replacement inquisitor is coming along real well, the old one is on the back burner for now as time is running out and i have 30+ mini's to get fully painted by the end of the month and get a game in.

yeah, i still have an uphil battle ahead of me as far as painting goes. Although, i am pretty sure i have ironed all the kinks out of my list. It just took the swapping of a couple pieces of wargear and i am pretty much set. I really look forward to seeing what you get posted tonight.

I know I'm a lil' late, but I really liked the female inquisitor. I like the petite girl holding a huge axe, you can always say that she holds the heavy weapon by using her psychic strength rather than brute. After all it is a force weapon right? It looks like a pretty obvious case of "biggerr iz bettr!!" but it's actually kind of subtle...

I still might fall back on it but the other one was faster to paint and was coming along faster. It will depend if I have the rest of the 500pts painted before the end of the month to determine if I use her or not. Lots of IF's.

I also have to chime in on the Inquisitor. I like the size of the axe. Sure it's ridiculously large, but so is damn near everything else in this game. If an IG officer can lug around a powerfist the size of his torso why can't the Inquisitor carry an oversized axe/hammer.

As for her top, I say leave it. It's a change from full body suits and Baroque dresses.

I was really liking the direction that the inquisitor was heading. Since you have abandoned the idea, I may have to steal it ;-)

This looks great, I am definitely going to be checking in on this. Out of curiosity are there any other plogs for this TOMG other than yours and tekk's here?

Tekk's got the jist of it. Either they dont have time on their hands to work on a plog or they dont know how...or they just dont care...who knows. We will try to get them a little more interested.

At lunch, I just messed with the female inquisitor a little (sounds dirty) and tried a slightly different paint scheme and worked on fixing the weapon. I think I will have her available for this round, I will post preliminary painted photos of her along with the few models I have done. I will probably save the other inquisitor for around 2k or 2.5k of the TOMG as a Ordo Hereticus Lord so I can have another HQ choice.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Here is the female inquisitor...pictures isnt great with color. I will zoom out when ive worked a little more and touched her up.

Here are the stormtroopers with new paint job. Still work to be done but not much.

And here is my other stand in inquisitor...once again color didnt come out well and it doesnt look fantastic under a zoom lense.

Really nice work on the both Inquisitors...The second is very well detailed, though more work on the gloves should be done, they are all black till the sleeve, so they blend into one shadowey mass that doesn't look too great.
