I pulled mine for 160, from a redshirt that couldnt make rent. Now if I could find another for the same price....

I paid 200$ for mine, and was pretty pleased with the price. I am starting to suffer a little from "same bloody hill" fatigue as HBMC pointed out, but since I have all building terrain, the hills are much less relevant than the structures.
If they started selling individual tiles with different features on them for 25$ a pop though, that would make it a must have. 150$ though, that is worth considering if building your own modular tiles is more than you want to do. It was for me, but I have a tendancy to get projects 60% done before getting bored and stopping. My chances of having anything better than a big peice of painted plywood were pretty rare otherwise.

I'd buy one for £50 (what's that - about $75?) - i.e. if there was one in a fire sale. I don't like the crappy skullz (HUR!) all over the thing, but its a robust product so would do to give me variety compared to the 2 homemade grass/scrub boards I already have if I painted it as a desert or snow board or something.

Cripes, at $200 they're trying to get molded plastic to compete with some pretty serious consumer entertainment goods - TV's, current generation gaming consoles, iPods, etc.

$50 is about my breaking point for that sort of thing, and it'd better be pretty damn sweet at that.

If they need to start oursourcing construction of this stuff to China to get a decent price point on it then so be it.

I'm not like them, but I can pretend.

$200? No no no.... These things are priced at $300 normally.

Yeah, they did outsource this one, and apparently that is the "decent" price point...

No way. Pick up a Zuzzy matt and a Fortress of Redemption for the same price.

Despite many concerns individuals have about the cost, there is a strong market for decent quality scenery.

We have sold hundreds of the things.

If you attach a value to your time for construction you would be hard opushed to come close to the value.

And its a convenience product. Many people are happy to pay for the conveneience.

Really, wow, at that regular 290 price point? I do admit the portability seems like a really great feature. Actually, now that I reconsider, if you travel game often, it's probably a great purchase.

Wow, I was surprised. Went in for the tournament today and they have sold neither of the two Realm of Battle boards, even marked down to $175. On the plus side, I was told they might just end up giving them to me to use for tournaments and on game nights.

I think that's what most people are buying them for.

I know that the new store that just opened up, the first thing they've got is a buttload of ROB boards they're working on, one for each real climate you'd encounter(winter, forest/ mountains, urban, and a desert one). Far easier for a store(or someone who has a lot less room for storage) to do something like that, than go through the hassle of actually building a modular table from scratch.

I'd go up to $100. Having another table option would be nice. At over $100, it's just too much over the price for materials at Home Depot though. Sure, some of the hills are the same (although, to be fair, you can move the boards around somewhat, and put them either in the middle or the edges) - but I've already got two other table surfaces, plus a bare mat, for variety.

I bought one at full price. The ability to pack it up and throw it in the trunk of the car (even in a fairly small sports car trunk) is totally worth it for me.

The skull pits do suck balls but it's not hard to fill them in (some paint/pva gloop and then some senic water for me)

Wow, I'm impressed. My local GW sold one last Christmas shortly after they were released. Another to a staff member, and just recently one more as that big combo deal with bastions and the like.

3, in a year.

Boo, the store didn't end up giving me the tables to use for game nights and tournaments. They're instead marked all the way down to a mere $100. If I hadn't already budgeted my money to getting a case for my Daemons I think I'd have to jump on that one.

One of em was promptly purchased by a store employee who had already previously purchased one at full price. He was wanting two more flat pieces to add some more interchangeability to his table, and since that costs $90, he figured this was a better option.

I'll stick to insulation foam boards I can make for $25, thank you. I guess I would take a ROB if they gave one to me for free.

I'm considering buying a zuzzy mat. Opinions on them gentlemen?

Huh, I'll admit - the zuzzy mats intrigue me. Hopped over and they look really nice. I'd also like to hear any personal experiences folks have had with them.

$52 is reasonable for a 4x6 play surface. Looks like they have small samples too you can buy for cheaper than dirt - maybe have some shipped just to check them out...

I own one and it's IMO one of the best products GW has ever released. Yes, it's MSRP is a bit pricy, but again IMO it's worth it. If you're able to buy it for a good bit less than I'd say jump on it. For $150-$175, I'd buy both of them.

I would pay the suggested retail price, if the bills they would accept are a bit small, as well as being a cheerful mix of pink, blue and yellow, and smelling of beer and weed.

For $100 you should buy it right now! The case can wait.

It's way too expensive for my taste, considering i view it a luxury item.

I would think about it, if they cost the same as a battleforce.
