Isn't this part of their reasoning for not calling it "global warming" anymore and calling it climate shifting or some such?

The fact that it snowed feet of snow before Halloween in Colorado won't help ether.

The fact that many people erroneously think that “Global Warming” means that every individual location on Earth will get hotter, rather than that the Earth as a whole will get hotter, does mean that Climate Change is perhaps a clearer way to express the concept.
