At first I thought "pink of all things why pink?" But know I really am starting to love the colour on your titan. Keep up the great work

Looks great so far, especially with the alternative purple colour scheme: very original! Can't wait to see it finished so mine can destroy it

Took a bit of a laziness break after finishing the legs. Focused on.....well nothing really, just going out, lazing about watching tv, building some models that have been sitting on the shelf, and messed around on a trial account for EVE Online.

But it's back to work! Onto the body. The hallway obviously is not painted yet, it's just there to help with the spacing while the glue dries on the 3 rear body segments.

The shield generators are all magnetized for easy recording of remaining shields. I'll probably need spots on the base to stick them later too, just to prevent them getting lost.

I have a reputation, Modile, a reputation as a fair, honest man who treats his soldiers well and supports them in the face of darkness. Potentially, that reputation makes me soft. It seems I understand failure and forgive it. Some, like Kowle, believe me to be a weak commissar, not prepared to take the action my rank demands. Not prepared to enforce field discipline where I see it failing. I am an Imperial commissar. I will enflame the weak, support the wavering, guide the lost. I will be all things to all men who need me. But I will also punish without hesitation the weak, the incompetent, and the treasonous.
I am a Commissar. I am empowered to deliver justice wherever I see it lacking. I am empowered to punish cowardice. I am granted the gift of total authority to judge, in the name of the Emperor, on the field of combat.

Some pictures with and without flash of the inner torso.

Left and right side inner detailings. Once the metals were black washed, the bound prisoners really stood out. The panels were sloppily painted boltgun metal during the process of painting the rest. I then covered them with watered down dark angels green and hit them with gloss varnish. The spikes jutting from the inner hull photographed really well. They're lich purple, a mix of liche and white, then white, then purple wash, then gloss varnish.

One final without flash pic to show how dark the hull really is. The pictures with flash make it look really PINK, but it's really a glossy, blotchy deep purple. Work continues! I've got the torso/leg coupling to paint and assemble next, then it'll be the head assembly and carapace, and then finally the weapons. It's coming along! Once all that's done it'll just be a few details to make it more Slaaneshi, and then the long arduous task of designing and constructing a base for the monster!

Spellbound when we are done with our titans mine will have to call yours out.
Did yours have a wedge of resin at the front of the hull area it took me 4 or 5 min to cut mine out.
Is yours going to be standing straight or in motion you may have mentioned this but it has been a while since you posted an update.
my problem is trying to figure out where to pin the knee and feet so it stays solid on the base and not put stress on the joints.
Thank you.

I decided to go with standing flat. I want to screw it down to its base, so I needed both round flat foot pieces flush with the floor.

Personally I think the easiest (and noisiest) way to slaaneshify it would be convert the missile launcher on the carapace to a giant amp and have a noise marine rockband (like someone earlier suggested) cause that'd just be awesome AND fluffy to boot!

Got the last work done on the hip section. Finally, the very LAST of the pistons are done! No more pistons! Until my warhound, that is....

Here's a close [and blurry] picture of the hip detail.

There are 4 brass rods going through all three sections of the hip. There's the two actual pieces of the hip [connected by the 5 hip pistons] and they sit on top of the crotch piece of the leg assembly. The pin rods are drilled through both hip pieces and into the crotch piece of the legs. The upper torso should theoretically rest firmly on that top piece without any glue, to help with storage. That makes the join between the lower and upper hip pieces, and/or the lower hip piece and the crotch, the connections with the most stress on them on the entire model. Thus, 4 pins drilled all the way through!

And here's pictures of where we stand [and her, too!] so far. Really nice to again see the reaver climbing. Calamity struck while photographing, and the torso toppled off backwards, snapping off the largest spike that juts through the armour on the back right corner. It glued back on just fine, but that shows me that either the top is not as secure as I thought, or hopefully it just needs the addition of the head assembly and arms to stabilize it. If it proves to still be unstable, I'll have to have pins sticking out the top of the hip assembly that the body will have to slide onto. I don't want to glue it down if I can avoid it.

Next up will be the front bulkhead of the torso, followed by the head. Then it'll be the carapace and finally time for weapons!

Nah don't think I'm going to put a tech-priest inside, though the thing will be open-able most likely, so I have the option of doing so later. If/when I get an idea to suitably convert a techpriest to chaos, or FW comes out with a chaos one, perhaps. A tech priest with tentacles that end in claws or toothy mouths instead of servo-arms would be pretty neat.

As for the apocalypse launcher idea, I honestly think the chaos missle launcher looks so cool that I can't pass up having it on my titan! It really looks much more awesome than the Imperial version. Still unsure what to put on the carapace, be it dancing daemonettes or rocking out noisemarines.

I think her name, or at least her nickname, may be Katrinah Josephina, due to the dancing daemons thoughts. Kudos to anyone that catches that reference.

Partially a bump, but a legitimate update. Having gotten a teaching job, I've been busy all semester (first year teaching, many of you can relate). I also got married and moved houses, so very busy time for me! Anyway, work has recommenced on the reaver! I'm trying to get all the outer pieces finished in time for her first debut on Monday in a 16500 point per side apocalypse game. Hopefully she does well! Today I got her carapace and one of the arms cleaned up and primed, and will be painting them this evening. I'll post pics later, but be sure to start watching this space again for more chaos reaver glory!

It has been, it's just that my camera takes pictures two ways: Dull and bright. "realistic" doesn't appear on that spectrum.

Head goes on tonight. A lot of the work today has been hollowing out alcoves for rare earth magnets at the elbows. My fear is that the hold at the shoulder will be too weak, and each time I go to put the arms on the magnets will tear the upper arms out of the shoulder sockets. If I hold onto the upper arms as I attach the lower arms, that should theoretically prevent that but we'll see!

On a serious note, awsome titan. I really really really want one, but cant afford one (well, i have the money but money parents wont let me spend it (I'm only 14)). Yours is very cool. the coulors are very nice, and it will certainly draw alot of attention.

Well, I ran out of black wash and time, so this is how she stands going into tomorrow's megagame. Her gun barrels are done, but the generators for the guns and their casings are not. I haven't decided how I want to do the large chaos eye yet, so that's black and the teeth detailing on the carapace and head aren't finished.

Within, her crew is not present. They're WIP but not finished yet, as are a couple cables. The apocalypse missle launcher is also not finished. Just didn't have the time!

So she goes in with guns blazing tomorrow and hopefully won't screw me on rolls due to being partially naked. After the game it's back to work, getting down to the details and finishing things up!

There will be more pics in the battle report page to come, but here's a couple shots of the reaver standing amongst ALMOST my entire collection. As you can all see, I've still got lots of work to do...

Also included in the battle is a model-eye view of the reaver as it towers over the buildings on our board, just after it finished blowing 20 honor guard to kingdom come. The battle was 16,500 points per side, myself versus my friend John [Fodabett on dakka]'s Ultramarines (I think the American flag is a nice touch too, whatd'ya think?)

The American flag is actually part of that gaming store's decor, I didn't put it there!

That was both our armies. We take out our armies before our apoc games, so that when the timer starts we spend the time deploying, rather than finding models and organizing things. Check out battle reports for the report of the game!

Have you considered applying a green/black wash to the pistons? If applied in streaks, and concentrated at the join, it adds a touch of realism to the model.

Great work btw, and I am supremely jealous of your collection.
