In my group we ask that each player supplies his army with 3 objective markers mounted on a 40 mm base, modelled in the style of his army.

Gathering the Informations.

I'm planning on using the Scanner from the Cadian Command squad as either an objective, or possibly as a Fleet Officer counts-as.

It's a nice lil' bit that looks pretty dang important.

I like to use 2-dollar coins. If you get the objective, you keep the money!

If it makes you feel any better, I don't actually have the Take Action! markers. They're something I want, but the FLGS was never able to get them ordered in with the other GF9 stuff, despite them being in the supplier's catalog. One of these days I'll have to suck it up and order them online.

Oh, and while I don't Require people to bring their own objective markers, I have in the past given out bonus points in tournaments if you brought three modeled objective markers.

I model at least 5 objectives for each of my armies.

It's a lot of fun.
The eldar were probably the hardest. I had almost no extra bits from them! Except bikers. I always have extra biker body parts for some reason. They're fairly useless in that pose, and you can't use them for slaves the way you can use dark eldar

Once more down to the beach, dear friends, once more,
To drown our sorrows with our English beer!
In peace there's nothing so becomes a man
As modest stillness and humility;
But when the blast of alcohol blows in our ears,
Then imitate the action of the tiger:
Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood.

Old CD Roms with scenery bits on top are what we use. They are always the same size and provide cover to the unit holding it just by itself.
