Sort of SciFi, or alternate history, mini series "Amerika". Does anyone remember it? It was like 12 hours long or something and somewhat really, really boring...just like real communism. There are very few clips of it anywhere on the net.
This thred has been great for finding old TV shows on Youtube to check out during down time.
Hawkins: I realize that & am a big DR. Who fan, but this was a cartoon I remember seeing after school back in the 70's. It might have been saturday morning re-runs played during the week. It had to have seen it between 76 & 79, because that was when I lived in Piscataway, NJ.

thundar the barbarrian then? maybe planet of the apes? they made a cartoon as well didnt they? also there was a story with good ol robby the robot, but it wasnt a cartoon. thats about all i can think of without a bit more.
scientists in caves, cartoon, and monsters, back in the 70s. not much to go on but i keep wracking my brain....

We started watching Mork and Mindy on youtube recently to see just how messed up, or not, Robin Williams was on "C". The first season is really good and funny. I totally forgot about his buddy Exidor. Mrs. Khornholio has been trying to drop "Shuzzbut" into conversation, but with some mixed results.

I honestly enjoyed this series (and the movie) and have recently rediscovered both.
Any other Dakkites ever watch this or have any other "classic" Sci-Fi gems to share?
Or in it's present day form, District 9 (I thought D9 was terrific by the way);
"We are made of star stuff...that's contemplating the stars..."
"We don't live in the Milky Way....we are the Milky Way's collective consciousness, a way for the cosmos to know itself"
Mind = blown

Hawkins, No It wasn't planet of the apes, I remember that one. Thundarr the Barbarien, My kids & me still watch the re-runs on the cartoon channel Boomerang. (not that one) Thanks for the help though.
FITZZ, Maybe, But for some reason what seems to be stuck in my head is all underground & dimmly lit.
Anyway thanks again both of you for trying. I know lots of stuff gets lost over the years. For all I know maybe it was just a TV special or pilot not a series.I mean I tried to explain saturday morning shows to my kids the other day because the amount of shows on saturday morning on the big 3 networks in the US just isn't there anymore & it was even harder to find & tell them about some live action saturday shows like; Shazam, Isis, Land of the Lost, & some futuristic show with a bunch of guys riding around in this RV looking thing that might have been made out of a giant oil drum(I can't remember the name of that one either)
Heck, I even remember after the movie Logan's Run there was a short lived prime time TV series of it, it might have lasted 4 or 5 episodes.

Valley of the Dinosuars was the only show I could think of that even sounded close to what you described.
However,the show with the guys in the "futuristic R.V",I belive I nailed..

Happy to help.
I understand where your coming from in trying to explain "old Saturday morning T.V" to children,my two would sort of stare at me like I grew a second head,so now I just use Youtube to give them visual examples,now my Son thinks that The Superfriends is one of the coolest shows he's ever seen,my Daughter would still rather watch anime...but she takes after her Mother.
Automatically Appended Next Post: I have to add this show to the list,although it's not exactly Sci-Fi,many (myself included) see it as the "grandfather" to the X-Files.
Not to mention it was one of my all time favorites as a child.
