I would suggest trying a 5 man storm trooper squad with 2 melta's. DS them with airborne rules. You should be able to get them within 6".

I love those guys. 105pts for a pretty hefty return. I destroyed two LR Executioners in a squadron in one round. Two shots, two kills. An extreme example, but I have used two squads vs a couple of mech lists to good effect. Hurts a bit in an Kill point game, but usually an even or better trade.

My vote goes to the Pask Vanquisher, with a 4x meltagun PCS in a Chimera as a backup plan. If you've got Creed the PCS will prbably be in Order range for Bring It Down too.

Manticore hands down.

The indirect fire option is nice. Do not forget that you can fire it directly!

d3 str 10 ordnance sized blasts can generate alot of wounds very quickly.

Plus it's easy to make with some plasticard and any toy/model missiles you have around the house if you already have a chimera.

I had some success using manticores against landraiders,plus the good thing is the tank usually sorrounded with high value troops too, even if your blast scatters,it should hit something worthwhile

Vanquisher with pask. In one game it immobilized one from across the board and destroyed another

You would think so, but I have had a spectacular lack of success with lascannons against Land Raiders. But like Volkov, I have had Pask/Vanquisher take out two of them, and in the first two turns of the game.

Unfortunately 9 tl lascannons would only amount to 4/9ths of a landraider kill.

9 tl BS4 shots= 8 hits= 1 1/3 pens= 4/9 kills

Ignore it, focus on the rest of the army.

The beserkers inside are useless until they have something to charge.

Focus on lascannoning the rhinos and kicking out the squads inside, let the landraider get close then give him a target to charge, a cheap squad or something. Whatever.

He'll butcher the squad then consolidate, which means he's standing in front of your army on your turn.

Shoot down the squad and get your meltavets into range of the landraider, which would have had to get close to discharge the beserkers.

once dealt with you then have the opportunity to pick apart the rest of his army at range.

gavo melta veterans in a valkrye will consistently kill a land raider on the first turn.

or like nikolai says you can just let it eat one squad and then shoot all the guys inside. or the devil dog. or just stack 10 lascannons on it. as a guard player you have a really strong tool box for dealing with land raiders.
