Fired a cannon at a big block of chaos warriors on foot. Rolled a 10 for the overshoot and another 10 for the bounce, and missed everything except my marchblocking gyrocopter. The roll to wound was a 1... reprieve! Moved on to the stone thrower, guessed perfectly, and then scattered 8"... onto the gyrocopter. I had the Rune of Accuracy on the grudge thrower so i could re-roll it and I swear to goodness, I got the exact same scatter and killed my gyrocopter. If any one of those four rolls had been different by so much as a couple of percentage points, no hit.

I normally roll pretty well probably about average although I'm sure my mates will beg to differ, well whenever I take a Dwarf bolt thrower with the master rune of skewering (2+ to hit) I pretty much always roll a 1, the last 7 times I've taken it, a 1 comes up. TBH I don't know why I still include it.

But at least whoever I'm playing and myself have good chuckle when it comes up.

Played a game with my dwarfs vs OK. This was one of my first games (and one of my last as well, discovering 40k not long after )
1st turn, I blow up two of my three warmachines, the last get's a misfire too, but only can't shoot.
2nd turn, my thunderers fail to inflict a single wound, and my last warmachine blows up. He shoots at me, and I fail every save. My thunderers are gone
3rd turn, he charges me, I can't inflict a single wound on anything, and still can't make a save. Of course I roll high on Ld. My only remaining units are slayers and ironbreakers with general and BSB
4th turn, giant charges my IB's, he get's yell, I smile, thinking I won't loose any models.... 2x failed Ld tests, and off the board they go. I am left with 5 slayers, and havn't killed a model. We called it there

I'm teaching a guy to play clense. Out of 18 seperate overwatch roles I only manage not to jam 3 times.

Lost over half my marines before getting past the first intersection, barely managed to force a draw with some very hard playing.

The guy was happy, and so was the store as he bought a copy!

How many of these tales of woe, have been caused by un intentional curseing of the dice?
Common way to loose any dice luck you may have.

The phrases
'...anything but a one...'
'... you have got NO chance of beating that...'

Should be avoided at all costs!

My paladin in scale armour was trying to get over a narrow bridge/ledge to reach the other side of a cave system. I kept on failing the balance check and it actually took my character almost an hour "game time" to make it over to the other side. During which time the whole of the rest of the group except for one barbarian who went on ahead of me were stuck behind me.

Needless to say the barbarian had kill everything (just about - he only had a couple of HP left) on the other side of the cave by the time I finally arrived... only to then have to go all the way back

I make a point of saying "need a 2+" instead of the evil "anything but a 1"

And when my mates need something, I'll always say "you'll be fine", doesn't seem to curse them, but it's nicer than saying "anything but a 1" to them, that would just be mean.

Hmmm....let's see

Doubles tournament on saturday we shot the following at a single Wave Serpent that moved flat out into our DZ full of fire dragons from our combined Mech Marine army:

18 s7 shots from autocannons (8 twin linked)
6 lascannons
4 multi-meltas (sans the extra d6 obviously)

...and didn't get to roll on the damage table.
