Amazing work on that cog pad. I am seriously considering ripping the left shoulder pads off of every Marine in my Iron Hands successors and installing these instead. I love the "tiered" look of that armor, it looks nice and heavy. If you make some bionic bitz, I can see myself becoming a repeat customer-- GW's bionics are cool and all, but I already have 2 of the old Iron Hands boxes, and the bitz are getting a little repetitive.

The cog shoulder pads are really really good. They make me want techmarines just to have an excuse to use them.

Not a fan of the new shoulder plates. A tad 'chunky' for my taste. Liking the new cog shield though, nice concept. Would be good to be able to buy without the fist though.

There will be a "plain" version of the shield as well.

Tom, any reason you cant do bionic arms and legs pieces?

Lack of good concept art.

That is really good I'm more and more impressed with Chaperhouse.

Well dang, guess I'm going to have to make that vet and cc terminator squad I've always wanted to do for my Iron Hands, just when I thought it was a good time to save my money, great job. I agree they seem "chunky", but I still like it!

As it looks now, yes!
Its already started but due to concept ideas needing to be fresh its always in pause-go-pause mode.
That means if you would like an original armoured glove rhino kit then it will take some time or you could help out by contributing ideas.
Otherwise the alternative is a boring rhino with the same armoured hand all over every surface and I dont know if that would be drop dead boring or acceptable, I´m not an IH player"

As an Iron Hand player the idea of a Chapter House armored glove rhino kit is appealing, but then again it is hard to beat the FW rhino doors, however I like variety in my massive army. Looking at the shoulder pads it does seem like the basic idea was to just stick a gauntlet over the pre-heresy pads Chapter House already sells, I would hope that if a rhino kit was made that there would be more to it then slapping a gauntlet onto the armored rhino kit already in production. I wouldn't complain either way. Perhaps using a paneling design that resembles the detail on a mother board or micro chip.

The chunkiness of the glove was a deliberate choice. I could either opt for a flat hand silhuette or lots of detail with spiky joints and miniature rivets and with that a measure of originality.

Do you think I should do more basic, flat and simple icons in the future or is the detailed stuff better?

I like variety so both would be cool, in various sizes. Fluff-wise the chapter symbol is white, but I am more inclined to paint a detailed glove metallic of some sort, but I'd also want to maintain the tradition behind the simplicity of the plain old white chapter badge. Just my opinion, keep up the good work!

awesome shields, don tknow if i'd use the storm shield in my Crimson Fists army though, the difference between the open fist on a shield, and closed fist on my shoulder guards would drive my ocd CRAZY!

if you ever did a Crimson Fist storm shield, i'd buy 50 of them!

Those Storm Shields are SO fricking awesome. Those would make so good Crimsom Fist (or Imperial Fist) SSs. They are just too goddman cool.

Maybe maybe...

Nope. the pad already made is a rougher three-segment piece with nig rivets.
I did a number of more detailed five-segment pads with tiny rivets, both as stand-alone and as base for icons.

I really like the five-segment pads. The improvement of your sculpting, and that of Chapterhouse's crew in general, is showing. If only I didn't already have buckets of marines assembled and mostly painted.

Not even Nick has seen them since I´m currently to busy to even take a crap, least to whip out a camera and take pics but given a couple of days I might post some more "old-themed" things.

Are Chapterhouse going to release any generic sci fi stuff or is it all going to be 40k themed?

I can use a shield without symbol on other stuff and the female guard heads would come in handy elsewhere too.

Seems a shame to confine the talents that are on board to work that is just 40k themed (unless that is what they want)

This is by far my favorite CH product so far.

As a personal preference , i would be very happy if the shield icon wasnt a hand , but an icon of Half Cog , Half *Bionic Skull

A half cog half skullz would not only fit as iron hand , but ad mech
Also i think it would look aesthetically better if the hands are abit thinner so they look like an icon rather than
a possible hand glued on it. ( the current design reminded me of the zombie sprue where there is a chopped off hand nailed onto a shield )

Can I suggest using the work of the over-talented Freakforge as inspiration?
http://s75.photobucket.com/albums/i305/FreakForge/

He's done some spectacular work with bionics, and I'd love to see similar items available to buy:

Personally, I'm most interested in Terminator-sized conversion material. I'd love to see a terminator shoulder pad with a rim (such as those shown below), as it'd make my true-scaling much, much easier!

I'm pretty confident that good Terminator bionics, along with a true-scale chest-piece and shoulder pads, would sell like hotcakes.

Amazing work Pyriel. Unfortuantely I don't collect Iron Hands. Just Space Wolves and Nids. If you made a plain storm shield, I would likely buy a few. Of course a little bird told me you might be working on some nid stuff in the near future .

I dislike the glove on the shoulderpad. The problem is that it looks like an empty glove is grabbing the shoulderpad instead of the glove bing some sort of icon. It looks like an undead hand has been crawling up the guy and has only to get over the shoulder before it can strangle the guy.
