Definitely getting this for the statue (may get two to represent the entryway to a large Imperial fortification). The Aquila is nice, but I don't care for the 'ruin' at all. Thankfully, £15 seems very reasonable for a terrain set when the statue is so large.
Reasonable? GW? WHAT?

I always considered this a nice SM statue in the making;

Ok, i've just worked out the ruin piece and it may have some use after all..
It's exactly the same as one of the panels of the Shrine of the Aquila so could easily be used in conjunction to make a bit of extra rubble around the base of it.
Crisis Averted, now i'll definately be buying a couple of these kits.

The SM statue looks far too knock-kneed for me, which is a shame as it could have been a fantastic piece of terrain. The ruin seems like an afterthought, so that leaves the big broken aquilla. Granted, its pretty cool, but I'm certain that I could replicate it with some foamboard and a scalpel.
All in all, pretty underwhelming IMO>

The ruin is a clear case of leftover sprue space. Use it either, as said, for the Aquila Shrine or for basing. Actually, all parts are fine for base decoration: Imagine a Trygon bursting out of the ground next to the aquila ... or the statue used as a Harpy flight base ( with droppings  )

We've been seeing the Marine statues for years and they looked fine - I'm sure it's just a wonky photo. The aquila is awesome, and the little dinky leftover bit is just obvious leftover sprue space.

I made a statue out of him. Mounted on a base/plinth made from CoD pieces.
Turned out GREAT!

More terrain, beyond the recently spotted SM statue set, there should be additional terrain later this year. Although, I would not hold your breath for Xenos just yet.

It doesn't work that way. The Emperor is a godlike figure in the throne on earth.
No one gets in to see the boss, not even the custodes, so in that, no one sees him, so they wouldn't know what he looks lie.
Who would want a statue of a corpse in a suspension chamber to inspire them?

I have had these constantly evolving plans for a massive ornate Imperial bridge that could be used to connect two tables( for mega-battles and now Apoc)for many years now.
So many great components out now to potentially use on it (SOA eagle panels, COD plastic kits), and i think some of those statues could also be incorporated...
I'm almost afraid to price out my design though...
