I've posted a link to your thread over at the Troll Forged forums, hopefully it is inspiring to them as it is to me!

But to get back on topic of this tale specifically, will this just be a wargaming campaign or will you guys also create your own fitting background story for having two Space Wolves, Traitor Guard and Alpha Legion forces coming together on a single planet?

Don't know if you guys already pondered about this, but wasn't the Alpha Legion responsible for stalling the Space Wolves during the Horus Heresy?

The story will be buildt during the campaign, as games progress. The basic premise is 2 loose sides:

Northen and I will be fielding rival Great Companies, doing a co-operative campaign, but competing with each other "who gets there first". Just like russian generals competed who will reach Berlin first in WW2.

Sickbunny will field the planets PDF. They are loyal to the Emperor (or so they think) and will be fighting off the furry invaders.

Migsulas Alpha legion is on the planet to spread some discord, I presume. His forces will be working together with the planets PDF (for the time being).

So, two loose sides instead of everybody against everybody else.

Starts with 500 point armies as the wolves send in first reconnaissance troops. The points will rise +250 points each month with at least 2 games for each player per month.

At the end of the summer, we hope to end this with a big battle with every fig on the table.

We will try to come up with lots of special scenarios as we play the games, so this campaign will be played more like a very big =I=munda game rather than just straightforward 40K campaign.

Our plans are very loose right now and we will make it up as we go on (just like our =I=munda campaign went).

Everything is still very much PIP, but here's a pair of pics. First one shows my paint desk. As you can see, I'm very neat guy... The second pic shows where I'm at right now. All the 12 wolves are on the same spot as I'm painting them factory style...

how did you get the tank look like its been painted via watercolours? i love that style!

Uh oh... I've been a bit sick last few days and won't propably make the deadline... Altough my figures are getting pretty close there.

If I have to continue painting these figs after the first deadline, I might be better off picking up something that needs only little work as next months 250 points...

So I picked a dreadnought and a WG leader to finish as the next challenge. That gives me time to finish the first batch and still have a plenty time for just 2 figures.

So, next to come on the painting table, my wolf body dreadnought!

Not normally much of a fan of Space Doggs, but I'm liking the wolf-dread. Am I right in assuming you used a dread, a sentinel, and a juggernaut's head? It's a cool piece and would verily be a fitting beast for reincarnation for a space wolf

I did this conversion before the new Venerable dread came out, so it's all regular dread parts in there.

That was intentional. I wanted it to have this bulldog physique, strong upper body, smaller read body.

If you look at the average wolf, they actually have large front shoulders and smaller rear ones. It's like that because their front limbs need to grab and hold more than they need speed.

Excellent wolfy dread man. That looks extremely "real," in a way much more than the normal, slightly too clunky dread looks. The pose and presumed flexibility really makes it look alive. Well done!
