Rotting Sorcerer of Nurgle

@Rajak:

44 shots yields 7 meq deaths as cover save is something easy to get.
That's how many points?

No, the output is low when cover is taken into account and it's not hard to have cover, either through terrain, or rhinos.
Hence my suggestion for Wind of Chaos.
Doom bolt is to keep costs low, while Wind of Chaos is there to really reap the kills.

At the least with a rhino, you have points for other elements...once you lose the LR you lose the ride and the fire support.

@Ventriss:
The 2000 looks neat...though termie squad w/ ICs are kinda underwhelming.
And the oppurtunity cost of the LR to actually contribute in ranged AT suppression sucks.

Melta and Lascannons are more common but still easier for you to target and destroy the few that are fielded than deal with the plentiful Str 6-7 weapon that litter the field.

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

You are right of course how ever just from my experience that fact never stopped any of my opponents from popping my Rhinos early to make me slog. It has only been through my Terminators and lesser daemons that have given my Rhinos any true cover. As fire support goes I have lost many predator to Marbo, scout bike with Melta, and random Krak Missile hit on turn 2 to make it worthless. Obliteraters are an option and have seen them work but they have to slog like the rest of the army. The Land Raiders are a risk but the tactic comes not from mathhammer but from playing and seeing what my opponents target first. The Order is the following

1. Vindicator
Why? Str 10 Large Blast

2. TS Rhinos
Why? To make them Slog. Other than a 4+ inv they are standard marines and will die to bolter fire all the same. Not to mention 2/3 of games are capture so troop killing is a priority.

3. Terminators
Why? In my army they are heavy hitters able to soak heavy fire and destroy key vehicles, and assault key units.

One thing to keep in mind here is that when you field a lot of vehicles you are deploying no more than 5 or so units @ 2000pts this does not give your opponent a lot of options in shooting. In the following list TS list there are 5 Vehicles. 3 Rhinos and 2 Land Raiders what are you going to shoot first the Land Raider or the Rhino. You know if he moves the Land Raider it can only fire one main weapon. If he moves the Rhino same thing applies. But what is the point of shooting the Land Raider when popping the rhino is more beneficial. These comments are just from my experience with my army.

@Ventriss
You may want to think about dropping the Sorcerer for more anti horde weapons like Havoc Launchers or a Vindicator. Also if you are going to Land Raider up your Terminators just give them Lightning Claws And make them Aspiring Champions for the extra attack. So they will have 3 base +1 for AC +1 Paired CCW = 5 attacks each with rerolls. Do not underestimate lesser deamons if you drop one TS and Rhino you can fit 2 group of 10. This will give you 4 troops to hold objectives. But the list is looking good.

@ Rajak

I really want to keep the sorcerer in as i feel it is part of the fluff. I might drop the second Terminator squad (Sorc Bodyguard) and LR and take 2 oblits and Vindicator???
