Not trying to hijack our loyal thread readers, but maybe this will get a little activity for those of us wanting giant creatures of doom in our Legendary Battles? Fantasy Apoc Battles & Creatures! And it can spill over into the Proposed Rules forum very easily, adding to the potential activity.

Alright after attempting to reply to a thread by plusARGON in the proposed rules section I got a reminder that it would be Necro-posting.
There is a thread thats' been sitting on the front page since last September!
We don't just need more regulars we need to get the members that sit online all day to post more often and chat with this social communication thing we call a forum.
On the other hand Kirbinator wins +9,001 Internet points for the Legendary thread and its creations. Thats definitely kept my attention here and away from the 40k Army list forum.

Also littlenibbler Orks aren't about armour saves.
Orks are about having too many models on the table, and wasting the other guy's time with your movement phase.
Orks are about having the toughest units on the table.
Orks are about not caring about how many bodies are left in a long winding trail until the squad is down to less than a third its starting strength.

Yup ive noticed the same thing. Ill read the 40k section since im planning to get in to it at some time, then check back and see that nothing new has been added to the fantasy section. However the post i was reading in the 40k section already has 3 new posts....
Pretty much the same thing happens at the store I try to play at.
We tried to do a Fantasy mini tourny this weekend. 2 people signed up... Myself and one of the guys who works there.
They did a 40k tournament, had to turn people away cause they only had enough room for 10 people to play at a time.
Ill walk in to the store and see 2-3 40k games going on, and not a fantasy army in sight... Once i save up a little more cash ill probably start playing 40k now, just so i have something to do if no one is playing fantasy that day. Too bad cause i really wanted to build another fantasy army, just not seeing the point of dropping another 500-700 dollars on an army i wont get to play very often.
Also the 40k crowd does tend to be mostly kids, who care more about winning then actually playing the game for fun. Lets not get me started on the made up rules they try to pull either

EDIT: Sorry posted here and not in the relevant thread: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/60/286866.page#1467372 EDIT 2: From what I know, and this is mostly idle chit-chat with bored GW employees that are drinking on the job..... But 40k is their primary exporter. Inside the UK Fantasy outsells it dramatically, but its not so popular in other parts of the world due to the streamline instant gratification of 40k, compared to the methodical strategy of Fantasy. Not much to go on but hey, the guy was having beers on the job at half-twelve.

Wow. I can understand the appeal of 40k over fantasy. It is a less complex system with less rigid rules. I personally am wanting to start 40k just for some variety even though my Orcs and gobbos are still being assembled and I only have 20 Night goblins painted. Get some discussion going and I will do my best outside of work to contribute.

Will also post my finished Night Goblins!

Yeah, know the feeling. Just spent about 3-4 hours pumping my darkelves from 1500 to 2k.. The models are ALMOST done being assembled... Funny thing is, this ADHD kid is ocd about how his models looks. One metal model can take me 10-15 minutes because i meticulously clip, cut and file all the burs down.
However, even unpainted. It looks very sexy all spread out on the table =D

Am having to concentrate on Space Wolves at the moment as I want to get them up and running as quickly as I can.
Just an observation about my own forum habits. I tend just to glance through the latest posts - I know lazy
So inevitably get to see more 40K threads.
must try to by pass to the WFB forum.
Might be a while before I get around to it but will hopefully start Wood Elves next as they have been very neglected. That might help me to refer more to this neck of the woods.
I get the impression that there is a greater degree of respect for other people and a lot more patience on WHFB - it seems a more pleasant place to visit. Just a personal view.

Went to parents over easter. Looked at Dad's Chaos Dwarves again, still no possibility of getting my hands on them...
I'll put up a picture of my skeletons later. I'm also going to do some pirate zombies, as I found a bag in the cupboard.

ShivanAngel, it's good that you're like that assembling them... chances are you'll never go back to correct anything you miss the first time, so now they'll look good!
H.A.T.- Any chance of snapping a pic of those chaos dwarves next time you're over there, along with the skeletons? You know... "I don't want to touch them, just take a picture"...

I will say being a registered nurse has helped me quite a bit lol. The precision you can get applying superglue with a insulin syringe surpasses any bottle i have found to date lol...
Not to mention i can grab a few scalpels if i run out of exacto knife blades, when im doing metal models i go through those things like crazy, think i broke 3 last night in 4 hours.
Also makes mixing paint a lot safer. That way i write down my measurements in case i run out and am not trying to color match.
3cc regal blue
0.5cc chaos black
1cc lich purple
Made the mistake once of mixing a special batch of paint for some models, thought i made enough and ran out.... 2 of the models looks just a tad different cause i couldnt match the color

Well they're not painted and some aren't assembled, so there's not much to see. I'll list them...
Dwarf Lord and the special character on steam powered legs
A Lammasu
Two Hellshaker cannons
10 centaurs
8 metal blunderbusses
10+ metal axes
various metal musicians/champions/standards
numerous plastics
--they total around nearly 35-40 Chaos dwarves, so about 2 units worth.
20-30 hobgoblins with axes
20-30 with bows
15-20 sneaky gits
various musicians/standards and champions
hobgoblin bolt thrower
10 or so wolf riders
And to support them, nearly 40 black orks!!
All waiting in primer!! Perhaps my dad will get around to them once he retires, it's going to be a big job. Looks like he's sitting on a gold mine from what i've seen of eBay.
The skeletons are mine and I'll photograph them, but Nagash is put away somewhere. I love Nagash.

Let your dad sit on that for a few years, and you'll probably see them triple their worth on eBay.... Or (in the most optimal situation) get reduced to nothing as a new line surpasses them...

For some of the longer metal burs i will cut them first. then file. Saves a lot of time.
for the really nasty ones, or cutting off a thick piece, I use my dremel tool with a cutting wheel... That thing is still the best 50$ i ever spent for warhammers. The grinding tips are amazing for places you cant get to well with a file.

I seem to have lost my skeleton army. You know how it is, you stick something in a box and next time you look its gone. Obviously it's around somewhere...
Instead here's a pic of my lizardmen. I'm lacking a Slann Mage here, but I do have one. They are very simply painted, but my plan is to use the dipping technique on them, as it seems to work very well on tyranids.
Do you have any suggestions on a suitable UK material for the dipping, is it just wood varnish?
Here's the vampire mistress for the skeletons, as a character I have her put to one side.

Wow, I love the multi-colored lizardmen! Maybe UK person can chime in with what they use over there, and I'll see if I can dig up one of the old dipping threads (I was thinking of doing it, too, when I had nids).
