Also, you wuz robbed in your test game - terminators can't pursue enemies who break from combat (sweeping advance), your warboss should have lived to fight another day.

Consolidation prehapes? Last time I checked I could still do that in terminator armour.

He rolled two dice ad I rolled two dice. He rolled higher, my guys died.

Yeah, the Sweeping Advance seems to have been a bit dodgy... feth it, it's good practice and now you're familiar with it. As a fellow Ork player I will tell you that Sweeping Advance is worth being aware of as it can prove costly. Our Initiative/Leadership sucks.

I almost always agree with Albatross, I can't see why anyone wouldn't.

Okay, so the male version of "Cougar" is now officially "Albatross".

I was looking on Wiki and it says that a lot of Ork player think that while the Codex was released in the 4th Edition, it was aimed at the 5th Edition. Is this correct?

Yes, kind of. We just treat it as the first 5th ed codex and call it good. They were written side by side.

Apocalypse book. You can only field it in Apocalypse games (games using the book, generally 3000 points and up)

Cheers for the info.

Are Orks a competitive force in Apocalypse?

They are pretty good, but I've never played them in an Apoc game (ahh, how I long for the days that I actually PLAYED games!) We've got a big Apoc game coming up next month that I'm not running for a change, and will actually be able to play in!

I won't have a stompa, but I will have a Skullhamma Battle Fortress and maybe a Fighta Bomba if I can get around to starting on it!

Kans and dreads, a wonderful way to start with orks

Welcome back and hope you'll be staying

As for an Aporkalypse army, mash together a giant Green Tide with lotsa dakka-kans and lotsa stompy dreads and a stompa or two and you will probably smash da lotta dem... WAAAGH!!!

OK, I admit I'm torn between two different army types.

I splurged and bought 10 boxes of boys and am waiting for their arrival along with the Codex but between then and now I'm trying to decide what "brand" of Ork army to concentrate on initially. I like the idea of a Goff based horde army, a real "grinding" army that can take on all comers, chew them up and spit them out.

The other army concept is the one I mentioned previously in this thread - a KOS themed after an Ork Outlaw Motorcycle Club e.g. Ork Hell's Angels.

In theory, I could do both I think. I really enjoy(ed) the hobby side of the game but I'm also quite competitive and happily losing as long as I had a good time again and again just ain't my style!

This may seem like a stupid question, but if you have a KFF equipped Bigmek in a Battlewagon, do you measure the 6 inches for the KFF affect from the edge of the Battlewagon, the centre of the Battlewagon or does the KFF only affect the Battlewagon itself?

The edge of the battlewagon.

It's being run by people with short term vision and enough greed to extinguish a sun.

Perhaps they're the C'tan.

Cheers for the answer. This bodes well.

Has anyone tried a Kan Wall/Battlewagon hybrid list?

SHHH! Don't say that too loudly. The HA will sue your . I'm not even kidding. They take their trademarks very seriously.

I love the theme idea though!

Also, don't forget that Orks are one of the best armies for doing whatever you want with. If you really want an old-school feral Ork army there's no reason you can't make it. Boar riders make great "bikers" for instance.
