Those who are upfront about what they're doing have no logical reason to lie about their knowledge of the law. If they actually are aware that it's illegal, they don't tell everyone that they're doing it, generally...

I know they're gonna look like crap, but they'll work nicely on battle damaged rhinos and such, couple of laz burns here and there no biggie.

When you get them, gimme a pm and tell me about it. i might order a few myself, a few friends wont care if they are recast or not so long as they look decent.

That part i believe yes , but for example such auction cannot go on for a long time without the seller receiving question from buyers about
its legal issues. Maybe... if they do it for up to a month , i will believe that story. But i have been keeping track of recasters on ebay myself , most of them have been still around for
half a year to a year atleast now.

oh and for FYI on the sellers website he states that he can meet any order, if you order multiples.....
id say he was recasting. but when it comes to FW and GW i couldnt give a darn.

I wasn't saying that all recasters are unaware that what they are doing is wrong. Merely commenting that there are some out there where this is the case. And that when they are upfront about the fact that this is what they're doing, that's usually the reason.

If you want the truth- he is a recaster.

It isn't even the FW doors. It's the vehicle icon from the DA sprue glued onto a regular rhino door and cast from that. This stuff is just awful. Seriously, just buy bits and make your own doors if you're that cheap.

Or buy this guys crap and send it in to GW for the real deal.

I'm not the craziest about GW's games myself, but I can't support ripping them off like this. 'Wrong' is wrong, even if it's impacting a company I don't like.

Im pretty sure the dark angel rhino doors are just the normal doors with one of the DA icons from the icon pack glued on.... or its a REALLY bad cast.

So the moral of the story is: Only buy knock offs of current GW products if you want GW to replace it with the real thing.

Correction: Only buy a representative sample of knock-offs if you want the real thing.

That would appear to be so unless the sculpters at GW/FW have taken to misaligning the detailing. The crests are look squiffy.

Yup, "recasting is wrong", but it's apparently ok according to several to knowingly buy cheap recasts in order to take advantage of GWs replacement service that will issue you with expensive genuine pieces. I think the replacement service is to help people who have been genuinely ripped off, not people looking for an easy way to exploit GW to get FW parts on the cheap.

I don't care about it either way myself. It's obvious what they are but frankly I don't see the need for people in the community to get on their high horse and report it to GW legal, not after what GW legal have been doing over the last year, or have people got short memories? GW legal should expect our proactive cooperation when they learn to respect the community and their customer base, currently their attitude is "you scratch our back, we stick a knife in yours".

I would suggest neither taking the time to report the recasters nor trying to exploit GW for free replacements, because that turns from disinterest in helping GW legal to actual dishonesty against the company.

Seconded. I dont care if persons are ripping off GW as a rule recastings are bad, but when it happens to GW. well. as far as im concerend. GW can suck my left toe.
