Seriously. We spent the past who knows how long developing snazzier and snazzier ways to kill each other, resulting ultimately in Nuclear Weapons. Now we simply argue whoever gets to have the biggest pointy sticks, whilst the general populace grumbles about the world not revolving around just their own personal needs and wants.
Personally, I don't even think we deserve to carry on as a species. We suck!

Well if the weather around here is any indication, we're smack dab in the middle of winter number one. Seriously, it's almost May and we're having January weather here. No Hanami, cherry blossom viewing drinking outside festival, this year as all of the flowers were nuked by this ice rain.

I think I know how we can survive. We just fuse ourselves to moving GLaDOS's. For those who don't like it, just remember that in the 400th century, you'll die, while I'm Still Alive.
Maybe, maybe... 2012 its supossed (at least that's what i heard) that will happen a strage meteorologic phenomenon that will waste all mechanical and electric stuff (EMP) and also it is not sure at 100%
If all return to a mid-ages way of life..... for some reasons i will not explain here, i'll be happy

@Black Corsair - Remember the tropical storms a few years ago on the island? I'd never seen anything like it! Apart from that, winter in Mallorca seemed a lot like spring in England!

There is a really great SF book which gives a kind of genetic timeline into the future, detailing how humanity will evolve, the branches that will "die out", important events, etc.
I really wish I could remember what the hell it was called.
if we were to die out as a species we would have done so by now....

Dates have nothing to do with it if the world ends it will be a totally random event my money is on social breakdown or disease i.e super virus's

Nah I don't think we'll make it. Unless we manage to develop really (really) good space travel and manage to find another planet which we could move to we will die out when the earth goes into its next climate change. Hope every one likes lots of volcanos followed by a looooong winter.
