Including the Dread and the Sorcerer that I haven't painted, 1000 points.

Agenda for today: Gym > paint > polish boots (blah)

It takes me about 20 minutes to do all the gold on each model. Maybe the more I do the faster I'll be able to do it, but I have a feeling I'll be here for a while painting gold trim, haha.

Right so I've got about half(ish) of the gold trim done. You must note that these pictures are taken before the wash has been applied and before touchups have been done. This means that they are sloppy and bright. Also it seems the camera tends to bring out the worst in them but that's a different story altogether

In one of the pictures you can see the one with the painted horns; he is the standard. You will notice that he looks infinitely better and much cleaner than the rest. He is also what the rest will look like once I get to that stage.

HOWEVER, I don't think I'll have a whole lot of time this weekend because it's my regiments 150th birthday (oldest and finest infantry regiment in Canada!) so we're having a dinner/ball tomorrow, and Her Royal Highness Princess Alexandra is going to be there and I'm part of her Honour Guard. How cool is that? Then Sunday is a huge parade (so anyone in Toronto who wants to come see it; it's at St Pauls church @ Yonge & Bloor). All this information is available at our website: www.qor.com). Big event for us!

Anyways, once I get home from that ordeal I'll definitely break right into painting as I really want to get these guys done! So here's the pictures (finally)

Thanks! I've got a few more models to paint the gold trim on, then I can start on cleaning it up and doing the washes and such. No pictures yet because it's just more of the same.

I'm kind of surprised how much the very watery Black Ink darkened the Boltgun Metal... but that's what I was aiming for so I am also pleased, haha.

This is probably the most boring part about painting the army... 25 of the same thing over and over again. I feel bad for Ork/Tyranid/Guard players

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Just played a 1000 point game using Vassal 40k with my awesome comrade who plays Blood Angels. It was a definite rules refresher for both of us but it was a lot of fun. I had some pretty lucky rolls (my Lord killed an entire squad in 1 round of shooting with his Daemon Weapon) and he has some very poor ones, but it was a fun game if not a bit lengthy. I almost blew myself up a couple times with stray plasma cannon shots and Vindicator rounds

I'm really tired right now but I feel the need to paint so I'm going to do that and pass out (not at the same time ). Can't wait to get this army up and running in real life!

Likely to have more updates tomorrow.

Sorry for the lack of updates. I'm still wading through the gold trim. I've 5 models left though, then I'll get into the cleaning up of them. Which will actually not take that long since black is easy to paint.

Though today I'll be a bit busy as I got a concussion yesterday (clearly us boys in the army are way too aggressive even when playing basketball ) and I'm getting a tattoo as well. Anyways, more on that in about 8 hours

*grumbles about missing the limited edition Iron Warriors book from Black Library*

Sorry for the lack of updates... I've 2 models to finish the gold trim on... then I can work on their weapons, horns, then shoulder pads and backpacks. It's taking a lot longer than I anticipated because my friend got me watching the show "Supernatural" and it's FREAKIN' AWESOME! I can't stop watching it!

But yeah once these models are finished it's going to be pretty quick to finish the rest of the army. Tanks will take longer to assemble than to paint, and Obliterators and Terminators are easy as well. Just these damn boring ass normal Chaos Marines... roar!

Pat that askala, O-H-I hate this stupid state

Nice i hadnt seen any of your new stuff yet until now and really like the direction your Iron Warriors have taken. Also cool tattoo and i will have to post pics up of my Thousand Sons army once i finish. I am about 80% of the way there just a matter of finishing up detail work on my guys and then also the detail work on 15 tanks or so. Your blog is really good. Keep on keepin' on!

Then it comes to be that the soothing light at the end of your tunnel, its just a freight train coming your way!

I have an idea for you about your tanks. I have to take some pictures but it looks amazing and would fit your army perfect.

Hey guys... sorry for the lack of updates. I just got back from an army training exercise. The weather was so messed up there was a Blizzard so intense we couldn't see 50m in front of us. That was quite the deterrent since we were shooting from the 300m mark. We had to stop and wait for it to clear up (which it barely did) so we could see the targets. Ugh.

As for the army updates, I'm almost done the 25 troops + lord. Pics will be up as soon as I get off my ass to take them.

Also note I'll be doing the bases once the whole army is complete.

"Straight Fething Silver" Tanith first and only

I have a reputation, Modile, a reputation as a fair, honest man who treats his soldiers well and supports them in the face of darkness. Potentially, that reputation makes me soft. It seems I understand failure and forgive it. Some, like Kowle, believe me to be a weak commissar, not prepared to take the action my rank demands. Not prepared to enforce field discipline where I see it failing. I am an Imperial commissar. I will enflame the weak, support the wavering, guide the lost. I will be all things to all men who need me. But I will also punish without hesitation the weak, the incompetent, and the treasonous.
I am a Commissar. I am empowered to deliver justice wherever I see it lacking. I am empowered to punish cowardice. I am granted the gift of total authority to judge, in the name of the Emperor, on the field of combat.

Haha, I can't do it... I need a break from painting Marines. So frustrating. Maybe I'll start that Tzeentch daemon army I've always wanted to do... *ponders*

This army looks like it's going to be on hold for a while. Blah.
