Thanks for all the compliments....

Im not really going for the fantasy pirate look but have thought about doing scuba fins / navy seals for some storm troopers just havent found an idea that suits me yet....

Got a valk yesterday so hopefully I can have that painted up along with the troops this week Thinking to have it look a bit search and rescue but not sure yet.......

In regards to the blue bases my thoughts are it ties them in together and arent my usual black rim which helps it feel more unique......

Wow, nice paintjob, and the nose art is great.

I see you used one of the flagellant heads very nice. I'd try using some of the other beardy types. Nothing says piratical like a big bushy beard.

Not sure if this would be too hard or not, but maybe you should add pontoons on the bottom of the valkerie so that it looks like one of those seaplanes. Would definitely fit the Piratey theme. Still love it, though. The pinup art especially made me smile.

Thought about pontoons and still thinking about it (still have to paint the lascannons as well) any ideas on what to use as a base? I was pretty stuck which is why I didnt go for it....

I also like the blue that is rimmed on the bases, unpainted they look awful. Painted they actually look rather nice. I would have a lot of fun playing against them.

Don't Valkyries already have a flying base?

Sorry, I'm a bit of a newbie and haven't played against Guard yet. If you wanted to make a base for the Valkyrie with pontoons, a base painted to look like water would both be cool and fluffy.

That looks incredible, especially the freehand! Can't wait for the rustall I ordered to get here now Stupid postage to the UK...

If you do go with pontoons, why not make a watery base? You could build up the sides a couple of inches with clear plasticard, put some weeds or something inside it, then fill it with water effect. Could work really well with the pirate theme! Just a suggestion, anyway, it might be pretty hard to pull off

Mostly, on my phone.

I really love that weathered yellow. And I like your take on the pirate theme, more original than many. Keep up the good work!

That weathering is utterly amazing, completely astounding in fact, could you possibly do a stage by stage tutorial with images? Keep them coming it is quite mind blowing!

This is a hugely unique army. I loved the Thunderbird 4 scheme on the Valkyrie. Personally the Corsair heads are an interesting technique but don't integrate as well as the Sea Dragon Cloak. Although I was glad to see you'd rounded of the ears. It's your army and if you like it who cares!

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Aprecciate the compliments, although the more I look at the command squad and troops the more I start wishing I could do a completley different look...I guess the next few days will see if I try something crazy or not....appreciate the thought....

On another note the Basic Weathering tutorial will be up in a few minutes for those who were interested.

Cheers for the tutorial! Just rusted up the sentinel I posted on my thread before using your sponge weathering tips - I'd heard about the technique, but rarely seen it used well! Waiting for my post to arrive with the other stuff from America now
