WAAAGH!!!!

I believe we were talking about how Orks smash AV 14 vehicles like LR and Monolith...

We have established that powerklaws and deff rollas are the best way... now what is the best delivery of above to destroy av 14 vehicles without wasting points...

Earlier on someone mentioned that tankbustas are required to fire at the nearest vehicle... but RAW they are not... just required to shoot at A vehicle if they can see one. Unless the rule has been clarified by FAQ...

Ran into the "no answer" for AV 14 this weekend at an 'Aard Boyz tourney where I was running orks. I try to ignore the LRs, but sometimes you just can't... depending on the scenario & how well your opponent uses them. I never really did find a solution unfortunately.

Tankbusters actually aren't very good against AV14. They can only produce 15 shots of Str 8 per round, maximum. They hit 1/3 of the time, like most Orks. So you 5 Str 8 hits on an AV 14 vehicle- and odds are good you get 1 glance if any result at all. To do that consistently, you'd have to forego any Tankhammers or Powerklaws in the mob, and those Str 10 and 9 hits are the only things that will stop a landraider.

You're much better off with any sort of Str 10 hits- which Orks can only get from Tankhammers, Tankbusta Bomms, DCCW, Warbosses with PKs, Zzap Guns, or the Shokk Attack Gun. Even if you are forced to hit on 6s, you still have a chance to penetrate and destroy the vehicle, rather than just pestering it with a 225 point unit the entire game.

Grab a unit of 15, make 1 the honorary Tank hammer holder and install them into a battlewagon with the following: deff Rolla, Grabbin Klaw, Boarding Plank, Big Shoota, extra armor (being stunned sucks), and grot riggers (being immobilized is worse).

Once installed approach the LR via ramming... then shoot at it with 14 rokkits, then hit is with 4 S10 attacks... repeat.

You cannot shoot after a Ram; the passengers might not be seriously restricted, but is your foe seriously parking a Land Raider within 6" of your Battlewagon?

i might be wrong, but i don't think that applies to passangers.

Right, but you passengers cannot fire if the vehicle moved at Cruising Speed. So realistically, if your opponent left a Land Raider within 6" of a Deffrolla without having already disembarked its killy elements, you'd best start playing someone that isn't clinically slowed, no?

I played a black templar who had 4 LR on the table. I learned the hard way I should ignore the LR and focus on the troops that have already gotten out.

A friend of mine and I were discussing this very thing. It seems to me (despite my lack of experience as an ork player) that cheap killa kans are the proper answer. Their WS2 is irrelevant vs AV and you can give them a gun which takes advantage of their AWSOME (compared to the rest of the ork army) BS3.
