Thank you! Ice Blue is my favorite color and it reminds me of lightning....And I imagine the space wolves to like lightning.
Also my base is a Dark Shadow Grey with a Azurmen Blue wash

What do you undercoat your models with?

Since you updated Thoradin, i think Logan really needs that touch up.

I base with a "Dark Shadow Grey" - which is half a bottle of Vallejo's Dark Grey and half a bottle of Shadow Grey.
And Logan is getting an update...but should i give him ice blue?

As far as the base colors go, that's good to know. School is almost out for the summer and I am looking forward to starting the painting of my wolves. I am wondering if GW's spray primer is the best combination of value and quality. I also think i'm going to airbrush the base.

As far as the Great Wolf goes, it's hard to say whether or not to give him the blue. I'm of two minds about it because the blue looks awesome. The lightning feel it gives is uniquely space wolfy. It would also allow it to tie in well with the other models I've seen. I kind of like the red, as it is bold and allows him to stand out.

I've got the same model and have no clue how I'll paint it. I know I want to go with the dark armor with the white wolf on top. I have not yet decided whether or not my "Doom Wolves" will be black with red trim or black with the ice/lightning kind of blue.

There is to many choices to make in painting these dudes. They are to epic not to get it right.

Actually I think I am gonna do the blue on him and steal your white wolf pelt.....
But I use the balck spray primer from GW and then do my dark shadow grey where i want it over that, then i do the azurmen blue wash before i do my details

Where are those thunderwolves from? does GW make them or are they a third party model?

Your termie is the reason I want to start up SW as a side army.

This is very similar to what i have wanted to do with my wolves. I wanted a darkere grey, and i do not like the yellow all over the tradiitonal GW wolves. I must admit i never thought of the dark grey and iced blue but now that i see it i am very tempted and may have to tweak it for my own models.

Excellent workk overall.

I agree, Logan is defiantly going to feel upstaged next to Thoradin, Because he looks bad ass. Man I love claws....

Quick question for you, Are you using slate on the bases? It looks really cool. I am thinking about some kind of glacial base, though I have to admit I have no idea how to go about it. Is the Azurmen blue the color we see on the iconograhy of his claws?

And thanks for the link to the Thunderwolves, those are both cool and quasi affordable.

No Azurmen Blue is wash i use on the dark shadow grey, the bright blue is ice blue.
I call it electric blue hehe

Great work on everything so far. However, on your Wolf Lord, his loincloth has the Chaos symbol on it. May want to file off me thinks.

The paint scheme is excellent, the way that the light blue participates with the other colors on each fig really makes these Wolves come alive.

Were did you get the wolves for the TWC I can't find decent ones without buying canis 3-5 times

Here are pics of Two of my HQ's Thoradin and Wulfgar. Thoradin is `90% done, needs some touch ups imo. And Wulfgar needs to be painted, built him last night.
