Chosen with meltas are really good for killing MC's. I've found havocs with 4x AC's are really good at both killing MC's and the big swarms too.

Chosen with flamers are good at killing swarms.

As has been mentioned though, bolters on rapid fire are great for taking out the big swarms of models.

Try to avoid CC with the swarms as I've found that you just get bogged down and/or overwhelmed.
