What argument?

I've just torn my house apart looking for White Dwarf #305 for the Deathwatch Kill-Team Rules. I cannot find it. That pisses me off to no end.

However, the basic jist of the rules were very similar to the Codex: Space Marines' "Tyrannic War Veterans" unit at the time(June 2005, it was the launch issue for Tyranids that year).

The only difference I remember off the top of my head is that C'Tan Phase Blades were an option for the Deathwatch Sergeant, and Heavy Bolters counted as Assault Weapons.

Don't remember that. The PDF of the article I've got basically gives options for four types of Deathwatch:

Deathwatch Captain
Deathwatch Librarian
Deathwatch Veterans
Deathwatch Marines

Captains could get standard 3rd Ed Captain gear, Veterans could get things like Lightning Claws, Librarians could get Force Weapons, and the regular Marines were like Tac Marines, only there were options for special Bolters, Hellfire Shell Heavy Bolters, and different ammo. No C'Tan Phase blades, unless it appeared somewhere else written differently.

With this and the rest of the thread, I give the following recommendations:

Use Codex: Space Marines, and take any of the following units:
HQ: Captain, Librarian
Elites: Terminators, Sternguard Veterans, Dreadnaughts
Troops: Tacticals, Scouts (from DoW2, the Scout captain was forwarded to the Deathwatch for his unique talents)
Fast Attack: Assault Marines, Vanguard Veterans
Heavy Support: Devastator Marines

Other choices might apply, but this seems to be the best way to represent them. Use the tacticals/scouts/assaulters as "newbies" to the Deathwatch, while the veterans are the main force.

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.
