I know I said I would buckle down and get some nids done, but I wanted to finish the stubby flamer assembly for my final tiny servitor only to realize that it was a bit too large for the teny tiny little tau shield generator. Well here is the assembly anyways. Maybe I'll find a use for it at some point. Of course now I HAVE to find a new weapon configuration for it I swear I am not a procrastinator... ok maybe a little.

Aw,only 2 people are posting on here? :(

Anyway, you're way better with GS than me. It's one of the only things I'm NOT half decent at (followed by clean paintjobs on tanks and feathering, among other things). I'm not too good at subtle highlighting either. But that's an acquired skill.

Anyway,I digress. Good job!

Is that an E string or A string? E strings are expensive....

It's an E string but I didn't buy so I'm ok with it.

Yeah only 2 or 3 post on here but whatever, I don't really care. The few that do are actually constructive and help me out so its worth it.

TRYGON IS DONE!!!!! No thanks to my lovely little boys who are constantly running in yelling "Daddy!" It's so worth it to take a break with the little guys though. Makes it that much more fun to get some time to model my nids. I'll post pics of the trygon as soon as I get a chance!

Ok, here is the real update for the night. If you are a fan of nids like me or just a fan of conversions you need to see this thread... http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/282111.page

I told the OP of that thread that I liked his work a ton and I wanted to make a Doom very similar to his and he was all for it so that is just what I did with a few little changes.

DOOM!!

The tail extends even further but it is actually what is holding it up in the box There are 6 little frail arms going on once the GS hardens.

Also as mentioned before I finished my first Trygon

and Mr Happy's profile

Trust me I am still TERRIBLE at GS but the tuts on here about it are invaluable! I have a few in my favs for when I want to try something. I was going to magnetize it but I figured I have another one and It wil def be magnetized to be a prime and a mawlok and maybe even a harpy...

awesomesausage with some awesomesauce on the side! Love your doom! You need to work on the brain though... cause ATM it really doesn't look particularly "DOOM" like. One way or another, I still love it! Maybe in a few years I might GS something myself...

Oh yeah, don't by gamesworkshops GS!!!! MWG or greenstuffit.com are a must for green-stuffers, if the adverts and MWG's reputation are anything to go by (which they are).

I'm not so great at the actual sculpting part. I will def be working on a thin layer of GS "brains" to layer over the sides of the head when I get better with GS.

If you want a large amount of GS without breaking the bank try GF9 stuff (galeforce 9)
Just the same from what i can tell from using it.
Not only that, but ive been stocking up on it for a while, got just over 1.5kg of it to use when i need to lol.

Thanks for the credit on the thread aswell
Looking good now, waiting to see the harpy once you get those wings.

At £6 though you cant argue lol.
Got 2 more sets on order now with 2 more trygons.
That should set me up with 3 harpies.
Also working on an all plastic thropes (much like my doom)
That way i can start running them 3x3, rather than having them break or chip.
I can also work on 30 or so for apoc lol.

I managed to get a few ravernors done last night too but at 2 in the morning I was in no mood to upload those... Now its more or less time to build my basic units for my army. I think I'm still going to make a few more Zoeys from the leftover Trygon/Mawlok kit not to mention I need to make my other Trygon. I think this time I'm going to make it a Trygon prime. Also I need to make some bone sabres for my tyranid prime and his unit of warriors.

Minor update... No pics yet but I did manage to throw together a pair of carnifexs, carnifexen... 2 of the darn things kitted out for some close combat. I'm not sure if I'm saving my last one for a tyranofex of tervigon. Any insight?

I'm FAR too lazy to paint my Trygon Prime. I just got it a couple days ago, already sprayed black, and I have no desire to start such a project without a spraygun. I play Hive Fleet kraken, so a solid basecoat of tallarn flesh is mandatory....

Sigh. I like hive fleet kraken, but bleached bone is a barstard

I haer you there. I'm making mine slightly different but its going to have a white base for everything that isnt carapace.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Not sure why I stopped there... My scheme makes it easy considering i have a can of white primer and a prethinned bottle of white paint.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also, Tyranofex or Tervigon? Keep in mind I will be using it for a planestrike mission in a few weeks. After that I will have a month to buy/make the other.

Lucky. A white undercoat would eliminate the need for tallarn flesh, but since the Trygon is black now, It needs a solid Foundation, and only tallarn flesh gives that real "flesh undertone" (maybe why it's a flesh color??LOL).

I think its army builder that puts out colored primers. I almost picked up some bleached bone primer before i chose white.

Wow! What a great company! They're even nice enough to tell you what citadel color it's supposed to be!

Great, thanks. I'm picking up some of that matte black first, then white, then bleached bone. All for about 40 dollars, great!

Tervigon for sure. Tyrannofexes are a waste of points \

Not only that, but I'm sure you'll have an excuse to use up a crap-load of guants coming out of it,which is always fun!

By the way,we have a trade going on. Have you sent yet?

I finished putting together my Trygon prime last night and a few gaunts and gants and a few genestealers and started trying to mind something to make boneswords out of for my prime and some warriors as I don not have any plasticard or the money to buy any at the moment. I just ordered some wings last night too for thy Harpy I want to make. Now all I need to do is snap my fingers and somehow make another Trygon kit appear... Ok my fingers are sore from trying and I've got little ones to make breakfast for. I will post some pics a little later I promise!

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Also I just put some time into revamping a really old metal ravernor with a new set of scy talons and a set of rending claws. I love updating the old sculpts. Really makes him stand out against the other 2 in the brood. Again. Pics later, after I prime everything...if the rain ever lets up.
