I'll probably go see it on that date, too, but if you see it before me- I absolutely must know if the "must have a banner to capture objectives" rumor is true/false, and if true, how prevalent that will be.

If your checking the standard, check if a BSB can capture them?
Don't rely on the word 'unit' in the description because in the current rules EVERY individual character, warmachine and crew, monster, collection of troops, weapons teams are described as a 'unit'
I ask this as Mazdumundi is a BSB isn't he?

I'm still pretty new to Warhammer Fantasy. I'm preparing to fight a 2250 game versus Lizardmen with my WOC army. I obviously don't know all the in's and outs of the different army lists yet, nor am I familiar enough with all the varied possibilities that are available to me with my army list yet, but I'm trying.
I know I'm going to be facing at least two stegadons (along with a lot of magic) from my much more experienced Lizardman opponent. I wanted to build an exalted hero that could in theory swoop (charge) in and attempt to beat on at least one of the stegadons before my Chaos Knights joined in. What about this 'build'.
Exalted Hero - 110
Shield - 5
Mark of Tzeentch - 10
Disc of Tzeentch - 20
Fury of the Blood God - 20
Bronze Armor of Zhrakk - 15
one of the following:
Whip of Subversion - 25
Glaive of Petrification - 25
Maybe the Battle Standard - 25
OR should I put him on a Juggernaut?
I know this isn't probably the best idea, but I'm still new and definitely struggling. HELP!

Someone better throw me a lifejacket because I am drowning in the tears of the "top-notch-pro-awesome" players who won't be able to break a unit with a single monster anymore.
Good gravy people.
The focus is, it seems, going to be blocks of troops duking it out, not the heavy-cav+monsters+massive PD bonanza we have now.
Learn to adjust.
That is all.

Unhealthy Competition With Other Legions

They almost had to re write the whole ruleset, but gentelemen, I think we may have seen the death of hero-hammer, at least for an edition or two.
Do rhinox riders break ranks? Do they generate "stomp" attacks? I wish to know, this intriges me.

Man oh man.
You guys ought to go back and read *all* of my posts about the steggie before implying I'm crying or whining.
My VERY first post was:
"hey, use them as active res support in conjuctive charges"
The next couple of posts was:
The major change is the loss of Rank Breaking.
Then I was asked to clarify what Rank Breaking was. And why it was such a big thing.
The statement that "small footprint unit manipulation is a hallmark of top tier players" Was simply an acknowledgement that the more often you're breaking ranks in this edition the better you are. Yes it's a simple concept with a complex execution. One or two ranks broken does not a good player make. Every combat in a game won due to broken ranks and the games over by turn 4? Then you're probably a top tier player.
I'm not crying in the streets because my Chariots and my bone giant, and my light cav no longer break ranks.
For the record, I've already thought of ways to deal with it.
It kinda blows my mind that I make one mention of the impacts and a lot of people suggest I'm whining. Seriously, build a bridge and get over it. Why would I try to help people with tactical advice if statements of fact are attacked so lamely

Hero hammer is not dead, if the 25% Lord Max / 25% Hero Max thing is true. That still allows at least a Lord & Two Heroes to be run in most armies, and for several that can potentially mean a pair (if not, in the Goblin / Skaven case, trio) of Lords in addition to 500-some points of Big Bosses / Skink Chiefs / Chieftains.
The age of a few expensive heroes is gone. The age of spamming dirt cheap heroes to give active resolution to units is not. Especially considering - if you make a whole front rank heroes - you're looking at an average of about 2-3 models attacking each character, which vastly reduces the wounds suffered back by the unit (barring, of course, other heroes being the enemy's front rank).
Goblin Heroes may be crap at 3 WS4 S4 attacks apiece, but when you can quickly churn out a good six of them at about 200pts and turn it into 18 S6 attacks from the front rank, it gets scary. Heck, even against Chaos Warriors it'll take an average of two to three models (depending on if they use additional hand weapons or not) to drop a single hero. New edition isn't spelling the doom to hero hammer: It's spelling the doom to monstrous mounts.

Minscs predictions of doom are all predicated on the idea that the rumors concernign "soft limits" for characters will not be present. If they aren't, things will be silly.. quick.
