Hi! My order was split. I received the first shipping mail on Sunday May 30th, and arrived to my home this Wednesday, two days ago. And this same morning I've received the shipping mail for the second half of the order (the spess muhrinz I talked about).
So I guess my termies and devs will arrive during the week from Monday 21st to Friday 25th.
It could be better, but it's not THAT bad, knowing that the SM were out of stock when I placed the order -that's the reason of the order split, I was sent first the items in stock-.

Because chances are they sold out of pretty much everything in the sale, and as they can only order new stock from GW once a week, it takes time to get through the mountain of orders. Then decided to hold another sale two weeks later.
I'm sure if you were the owner of Maelstrom, you'd be very happy to be in a situation where you have so many orders that it actually delays things.

As I pointed 2 replys before yours, I was aware that those items were out of stock. I have done similar orders other times. This one has taken a bit longer, and it's ok. What I meant in the reply you quote is that I wasn't going to make another order until the one I was expecting was delivered.

I still haven't had my GW-Beater order shipped :( It's not the end of the world, but the delays do seem to be getting worse and worse. 3 weeks and no dispatch is pushing it.

My two packages recieved. 12 days to process my order (plus two days in transit), and they managed to screw it up.
Anyone want to trade a jumppack chaplain for $ or a termie one?
I ordered from Wayland 3 days ago. Order was processed, packed and shipped in 16hrs. Well worth the extra €5 not to have to wait two freakin' weeks for something to happen to your order. (And yes, I only ordered stuff from Maelstrom that was marked as "In Stock". Apparently it wasn't.)

You can always send the faulty item back, they'll give you a partial "moneyback" refund for the item and some of the postage.

Mine arrived today missing 2/3 of the order. With the long delay between ordering and shipping, together with not actually getting most of what I ordered (it was all in stock, they just 'forgot' to put it in the package), I'm thinking I'll be shopping elsewhere in future.
Obviously for those outside the UK the shipping charges for Maelstrom make it very attractive. But for those in the UK, Games Workshop stuff can be gotten much cheaper and hobby items comparable or for slightly more (but with much faster delivery times and better customer service it seems).

Better than what I got when I tried to use them. More than two months of excuses and lies, but no product or refund. Order went in and out of being "shipped" status multiple times over about 2 weeks (whole time both products being listed on the site as being 'in stock'). Multiple claims that they would either send a replacement or refund. I have gotten over 100 orders from UK since early last year, theirs is the only order that did not show up at all. All the others not only showed up, they all showed up in a timely manner, so I doubt it was lost somewhere between the different postal systems (I admit they could be the one fluke but why no refund after MULTIPLE promises to do so)?

When you're that big and do as many shipments as they do, there's bound to be screw ups. I know we all want to be nice, but when a mail order company screws up, you get on them.
And you definitely don't let it go past the paypal date for contesting the sale.
1) Wait about as long as it should take to get your order given where you are in the world.
2) Contact them and ask for either a refund or a replacement to be sent asap
3) When paypal date approaches you send them a notice ahead of time asking where the package is and for a refund.
4) Report non-shipment of goods to paypal or your credit card company.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better. |

Maelstrom gets none either.

No slack. It's just a fact of life and as a buyer you need to be merciless with anything short of them completely bending over backward to make things right.
Automatically Appended Next Post:
A good example of this is Thewarstore.com. They shipped the package to the wrong address (I entered the right address, but their system subbed in the wrong one and I noticed in the confirmation email) and shipped out a replacement as soon as it was figured out. And Neal told me if the post office gets the first package to me somehow anyway (it was an address in the same town), to enjoy the extra warjacks.
On the other side of the coin, Chaos Orc short shipped me and then lied about sending a replacement. When I asked for a refund, they delayed me until the paypal date past and I couldn't contest and then told me to basically F-off. I made a big public stink about it on theministurespage.com and got my refund. Priority mail has tracking, I don't know what the guy was thinking saying he shipped it but couldn't get me tracking info.
Be merciless.

I paid by CC and the order was too small for them to bother fighting it (learned lesson, Paypal only for small orders). Ironically GW did ship me the product for free later on (by accident, error in sending an order, let me keep both orders).

I still haven't yet gotten my GW beater order yet. It will have been a month exactly tomorrow, which is edging towards the long part of my expectations. I figure a week to get stuff in, a day or two to process, and maybe 2 weeks to arrive in the mail. As it turns out, after they came in stock they sat on it for 3 weeks, so no idea when it will arrive. I'll probably dispute with my credit card company next week, if still not arrived.
If they can't keep up with the order influx from sales, they might need to stop having them so frequently, much less announcing another while still apparently swamped from the last.

Dispute early and often. Online sellers need to know that customer service matters and that if they don't do it right on there end, they have to deal with charge-backs from paypal and their credit card processor company.

In my 15+ years buying online (gah, I feel old now), I have only had 2 places screw me and not get it taken care of: Dragon Scroll, who went out of business (some assets were bought by Noble Knight Games) and Maelstrom, though Chaos Orc was flaky the last few times I used him too.
