Short answer:

If they're a loyalist, GW found a convenient way to get rid of them.

If they're a traitor, then it's more than likely than not that they're just itching their arses sitting on some backwater daemon-world doing nothing.

they havent done a model for him, but angron is a playable daemon prince/primarch. granted its ni-impossible to field him but his does have his own stats and gear.

Vulkan might have been lost at the dropsite massacre of Isstavan V, it was never really comfirmed.

Where can I find the rules for Angron?

Nice one Luna Havoc. He seems a bit over-priced though!

Apocalypse Now is based on Joseph Conrad's novel Heart of Darkness, which also had a character called Kurtz. I must admit I'd never realised that the assassin's name came from Martin Sheen.

We have some lines written from the perspectives of beings who might well be near omnipotent, albeit perhaps not so trustworthy.

Actually I wasnt aware, but that is hardly suprising as I dont pay much attention to it. I only posted the comment I made as I thought I remembered seeing it all those years ago, and a quick flick through found it.
Also Codex Imperialis doesnt read like a point of view more like a sourcebook which it is, being a part of 2nd editions core rule books

Fluff adds that extra depth to the game. It's one of the reasons my interest has been kept for so long. Fluff is important as it explains WHY legions/ chapters/ alien races act the way the do. Without the fluff it would just be a bunch of races with no background fighting for the sake of fighting. These forums would be bland had there not been any fluff to debate/ reasons to convert models. Without the fluff there is no 40K. Simples.

Yet it means nothing to me when I play a game I am just pushing miniatures around a board and rolling dice, to me the game is all about the social interaction, I could just as easily be playing chess except I am not smart enough. Dont get me wrong Ive read dozens and dozens of BL novels but I enjoy them for what they are just 'Pulp Fiction' stories, they have no bearing on what I play or how I play. I also understand there are many out there who like yourself are kept interested by the fluff and even I have to admit I can get sucked into their excitement when I play against someone that enthusiastic.

It can be infectious. The fluff doesn't effect how the game is played so much, but can change how the army is collected and structured. So does it have a knock on effect into how the games played? Maybe.

then why are you posting in the fluff section of this website?

anyhoo pretty much everythign has been said in regards to this HOWEVER

there were models for some of the primarch remember. 40k you had leman Russ and Robute Guilliman (SP for all) and in Epic You had Fulgrim and Angron IIRC, they were the size of titans. I think there may have been more but i can't remember.

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

Starting to get slightly uncivil in this thread.

Lets endeavor to keep things in check.

And yes, it probably isn't the smartest tactical decision to come into the Background Forum and post in a thread on the Primarchs if you really don't care about the Background.
