Ok so I fixed him up a bit so he'd have a lion cloak on him but less of a regal head. What do you guys think?

I'd change the weapon, it that is possible. Maybe to a lance. Failing that, get rid of the shield. Using an axe one handed with that grip would be nearly impossible, it just looks... off, to me.

His a white lion prince, he needs an axe lol.

And the shield is to protect him from arrows, then when his in combat he slings in on his saddle horn i dunno lol. Not many things about WHFB makes sense lol :p

Maybe you could do both? Add a long spike to the top of the axe and make it a Halberd. That way he has a lance for when he's riding and a long handled axe for close combat.

I have a halberd that came with the lord box, but I think the haft is too big on it. I may put a spike on the top of the axe though, to make it more brutal haha. Thanks

My only suggestion would be to rotate the head to be looking forward and twist the top-knot so it looks like it's trailing behind in the wind.

Anyway I agree that he looks to dragonish to be riding a lion and I actually liked the first head better on him though I didn't like the way he was looking as it didn't fit with the model as a whole. Also for a shield might I suggest looking at and trying to get one of the old Empire state troops shields. They aren't exactly elvish looking as their circular but they have a lion head in the middle that would go with your theme.

I think it is a simple and good looking conversion. As far as fluff goes with the cape thing keep in mind the charioteers wear lion skin cloaks and heads the the lions let them drive them and harness them so I doubt it would be much of a differance for a noble to ride one.

And you could say he was a noble of Chrace who initially rode in a chariot but it was destroyed in battle and the other lion was killed (maybe they got hit by a cannon ball or Druchii bolt or something) so he mounted up the other one and kept the charge going.

I actually didn't notice that there was a second page when I posted my reply so I did see the new one and it looks good but I still liked the first head (I used it myself for my 40k Wolf Lord). I think it deffinitly dosen't look to dragonish now

Thanks, I ended up going with the last image I put up, liked the look of it better. Oh and I made the axe look more 'brutal' haha.

Ok so I've got some photos of him all painted up, he still isn't glued yet and I still need to do some touch ups. Overall though I'm really happy with it, seems as I'm a pretty amatuer painter. Theres a lot of photos as well, so enjoy and tell us what you think

If I had to criticise one thing though it's the prince. Think you missed some blue trim around his arms which would really top off the model. That and the haft, but I understand it's still a wip.

No idea what to do with the shaft, and to be honest I think black shafts look good with my colour scheme. No idea what other colour to do.

Youll have to paint the gems on it then if youre going to leave it black.

You could possibly add another layer onto the mane if you wanted. Really fine fortress grey or even white. Just so make it nice and bright.

Yeah I was thinking that when I was painting it. But I am doing a dark kind of High Elves, and I thought it might come up TOO bright.

On the lion that i think it might look alright.

Possibly not white as you said that might just be a bit too much. perhaps an off white like bleached bone or just carry on the grey assuming that isn't already fortress grey you used.

I used codex gray so do you suggest fortress gray? Also, what do ya think of him? lol
