I would use fortress grey, then do a layer of codex grey, a layer of space wolf grey then a final highlight layer of skull white. Dont know if that'll help you but i find the small hint of blue in the space wolf grey matches up with the blue trim.

I dry brushed some fortress gray on it and I really like the end product. His all painted now, I'm just too scared to glue him lol :p

I think he looks great i really like the darker feel to it opposed to the bright shiny high elf look i think it hits a nice middle ground between high elf and dark elf. Looking forward to the final pictures.

For some reason when I think of the model on a base I picture the lion standing over the body of a dead Cold One

Kick-A Prince dude, I love the darker color scheme. Too many HE players have the "albino lion" idea and blinding bright wargear stuck in their heads, but a darker metal (and realistic lion for that matter) works wonders and making him more of an awesome character. Cold One idea is awesome, though I wonder how you'd model it on...

He's all done now, just gotta do the base and his done and glue his shield on lol, but I wanted to take some photos of him without the shield first.

Random thought, what do you think about a blue wash over some of the metal areas? Just to break up the armour.

I have no idea what that would look like lol. I just dropped something on him before and had to glue him again, was not happy lol.

Test out the blue wash on a spare model. Might go well on the scales of all the army.

Might look into it.

Also, what size base is this going to be so i can start to work on this cold one.
