Have you got medical insurance Kan? I ask because I want to make sure you're covered before I book you in for a humour-transplant. Your sense of humour clear died years ago and you need a new one. Are you on the donor waiting list yet?

I've got a fantastic sense of humor.
See "The Jetsons" had a car that was the size of a briefcase.
And it flew.
Plus, you're old!

To me, yes, the controls are better.
That's just me though. It's just because I'm so used to a 360 controller.

I like consoles just fine, but I prefer PC for games whenever I can. 10 bucks cheaper, the options for mods, and mouse+WASD is real comfy for me. I do have an Xbox 360 on my desk right next to my computer though - although I do prefer the PC there are console exclusives and some games that just play better on a console.

Sure I do, I've only seen Jetsons as a rerun!
And it realllllllly depends on the FPS. "Pure" FPSes such as Quake, Doom, etc work better with a keyboard and the mouse with buttloads of weapon choices to scroll through.
Games like Halo or Gears or even the new Rainbow Six games work better on a console, simply due to not having to deal with the clutter of unused keyboards to screw with.

Exactly. I have a PS2, and I wouldn't dream of playing God of War or Tekken on anything but the PS2, but for FPS's and RTS's? Mouse/Keyboard all the way. Controlling FPS's on consoles is just a pain.

You're kidding, right? Keyboard 'clutter'?
How many buttons do you need for Halo, really? Probably no more or less than Half-Life 2, and that isn't a harder to play on keyboard because of the unused keys.

The difference lays in the sensitivity for some aspects of games.
I'll use Medal of Honor: Airborne as an example here.
On the PC, it requires very fine manipulation of the mouse to use the corner/cover system. If your mousepad is weirdly surfaced--you're screwed because it'll slide you right out of cover while shifting, not to mention needing to hold down both Shift and the Mouse 3 button, while moving said mouse to shift directions.
On 360? Left trigger and right stick. That's it.

Kan, I hope you're aware that the Rainbow Six games were severly dumbed down for consoles.
And for the record, for all your complaints about the innaccuracy of M&K, how the hell do you get by with analog aiming? Oh wait, console FPS uses autoaim.

I'm going to assume you don't read everything posted and just jump in wherever you feel like.
The "new" Rainbow Six games(and to an extent the new Ghost Recon games) were intended for consoles first and PC second. Not everyone enjoyed the old days wherein you spent twice as long actually planning out the operation, and it basically ran on autopilot once you gave the go-code--so they tried the 'new' way, and guess what?
It was a resounding success. Compare the sales figures of the current ones to the old, and you'll see a huge difference.
However, of course that earns the animosity of the " PC purists" who feel that somehow the mouse & keyboard makes them more skillful or some such crap.
I always love the "console FPS uses autoaim" argument by the way, seeing as autoaim is a feature that can be turned on or off in both console and PC versions of most games.

I remember the first time I played a FPS with mouse support (after being raised on Doom 1 and 2/Wolfenstein etc) I initially started using the keyboard commands to look up and down to aim, until I finally figured out I could use the mouse.
I find fumbling around with Console controllers much the same, though Autoaim means I only have to be pointing in the general direction of the enemy of course
Personally my platform of choice is the PC, though I own a ps3, and have a Xbox 360 controller for my PC for games that I felel work better with controllers (Assassins Creed and Just Cause 2 come to mind)

In pretty much every successful console FPS, even if you turn aim assist off, you're not actually turning it off, you're just lessening its impact. It's because of the simple fact that you don't have nearly as much control or steadiness with your thumb as you have with your whole arm, and mouse control is capable of much faster movement. There's a reason why consoles will never have an FPS as fast as something like Quake.
And here's a hint: Just because Crysis 2 will sell more than the original, because of a wider audience, does not mean it will be a better game. Higher sales does not always equal higher quality, especially in the console market, where the shooters that sell the most tend to be the ones that are the most homogenized.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is why the PC vs Console debate is pointless. The amount of disinformation from the PC crowd is as bad as politics.

Which is funny, when you consider that I play on my PS3 and my Wii just as much, if not more than my PC. It's also funny, when you consider that my collection of console titles more than quadruples my collection of PC titles. It's also funny that, were I to arrange my favourite games into a top ten list, every single one of them would be a console game.

And it's not even an argument about which is 'better' - I don't see any as being superior to any other. It's just that certain games are a better fit on certain platforms. Fighting games, for instance, don't work all that well on PC's. I own Mortal Kombat 4 on PC and it's quite difficult to play compared to, say, Tekken 5, which has a million more combos and moves, because console controllers are naturally better for fighting games. But could you imagine trying to play Starcraft on an XBox? No.

Which is, again, why you don't see Starcraft on Xbox. The only RTSes that are on consoles are games that are adapted for it.
Take Tom Clancy's EndWar, for example. The keybindings are replaced with voice commands. It's a fun system to play with, but is it on par with say Command And Conquer: Tiberian Sun?
Of course not.

Aim assist is NOT a good thing. It's a pain in the arse when you're trying to target tightly-packed enemies, and often slows down your tracking.

It really varies from game to game, a lot of the good games give you a slight aim assist, others auto-lock on to targets you really don't want to bother with.
Anyway, enough off-topic.
I do hope that Relic releases a demo when the time is almost upon us, that way we can all see for ourselves where it plays best. Not that it matters, I might get it for PC and 360 anyway.
