The shoulder pads are from the new chaos infantry upgrade sprue.

All the bases on the berzerkers were based with a fine sand I bought at a local Micheal's Craft Store. The same stuff that's on the lords base. As for the the Khorne symbol on the dreadnoughts base I made the template in the pic then transferred that onto plastic card and then trimmed it down to fit the base. As far as colors go the turf was painted black, then drybrushed in order with lighter amounts of every new color the following: adeptus battlegrey, codex grey then fortress grey.
Also thank you all for the comments. Very much appreciated. And I plan to add more new threads with every interesting project and plan to provide my own feedback as my time in this community continues.

Awesome work so far I like the paint scheme and the way your models look, that first image of the dread I had no idea what it was until someone mentioned it was an old school dread man they look so different originally lol. Keep it up!

I'm really enjoying your blog, Ninjabiscuit. It's inspiring me to actually work on a single project for a while, and start my own blog. The hard part is choosing which of my current WIP armies (read: many) to stick with for that long...

Hehe. I hear ya on that one. I decided the other day to put my entire collection of marines on my game table(which hardly fit surprisingly) and let me tell you I was impressed and very discourage at the same time. I have about 62 models left to paint at the moment 12 of which are vehicles. It can be hard to continue with a project so large which is why I'm doing something like this. Builds my skill with other colors and still motivates me to paint. Even when painting simple color schemes ones motivation can drift away just from boring repetition. Also don't forget that almost all armies fluff wise ally with their brethren so for example painting marines of different chapters to field as the same army is of course perfectly fine and helps with painting a large army. Tomorrow I should have another set of update pics ready. Almost done... almost. Also on a project note I just received a new commission I'm undertaking for Alastergrimm which will have it's own project thread. More airbrushing with red along with maybe showing how to airbrush dust weathering effects.

(Update 7)
Ugh finally. Well as before progress is again slow. So much has been distracting me lately and imitatively I have nothing to blame, but laziness really lol. I am on the home stretch though. All that is left to complete is the metallic colors and the highlight for the black. The bases take very little to complete and can be done in minutes. The skulls are what has recently been completed and there are only 4 berzerkers that need the first of the boltgun metal to be applied. My goal is to get enough painting in the next two days to finish these guys and continue work on my current commission project. The only thing I have of importance to interrupt me is an appointment I have to take care of at my local court house in the morning. As noted before the lord will not be completed with the rest and will be sold later separately when I have time to focus on it. Besides that here are two simple update pics to show progress.
