Well, i'm not sure about that. The Arbites are pretty nails taking down serious criminals, dangerous underhive gangs etc. I cannot remember the book but they are quite a bit better than IG and are mentioned in BL Books occasionally. They are small in number but well armed and very disciplined, if they produced a Codex i would definitely collect them, Carapace Armour Bolters/Shotguns/Heavy stubbers/Flamers/Grenade launchers/Riot shields and power mauls + Rhino's etc with allies (Assassins + PSykers etc) they could be really competitive! I still have a 5 man team somewhere the old 94-95 era Shotgun armed mini's i might dig them out !

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest!

My three have been mentioned already. I chose them based on their prevalence in the fluff and GW's level of neglect:

1. Adeptus Mechanicus - Would be so cool to have. All the fluff is there, just make the army already!
2. DeathWatch - Also cool, and they're they only major arm of the Inquisition that has been neglected.
3. Adeptus Arbites - I'm not so sad they're ignored by GW, I want to play soldier, not cops and robbers. (I know they're more than that.)

However, if you intended to ask about the armies that are the most forgotten fluff wise, those would be:

1. Oh, uh, I've forgotten.

So you're saying Red Redemptionists and born-again Hive Gangers aren't civilians?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
By the way, Arbites are represented in tabletop by Inquisitorial Stormtroopers with shotguns.

the reason you never see costodus is because they are few and far between. They are all on earth and almost never leave being the bodyguards of the emporer, they almost never leave his side which is allways on earth. the only time one would leave would be at say the spearhead of a crusade leading it if somehow the god emporer himself appeared to them with some gawd awwful holy quest to do something crazy and convoluted....other then that they never leave earth.

No, not in the sense that the Frateris Militia were. Gangers have combat experience that green recruits would normally lack.

shakomatic wrote:the only thing that the mechanium has is storm troopers from their sister worlds (like vostroya) uses to guard their ships and forgeworlds

Not true. The Adeptus Mechanicus has a variety of troops of their own: Guardsman/Storm Trooper analogues, Electro-priests, servitors of various types, and more than their fair share of war machines and artillery.

I don't think you read that right, samus... "most forgotten" indicates whichever army is least remembered. "Least forgotten" would therefor be Space Marines.

Not true. The Adeptus Mechanicus has a variety of troops of their own: Guardsman/Storm Trooper analogues, Electro-priests, servitors of various types, and more than their fair share of war machines and artillery.

In addition, there are the Knights, the Praetorians, the Skitarii, (which you and Melissa noted) and the various types of tech-priests which would make for a full and diverse force. Most Magi have their own own personal army, larger than most SM chapters!

Err, no of course not. A custodes would destroy any normal space marine one-on-one, hell maybe even an entire combat squad on a good day. They are not 'normal guys,' they're ultra-superhuman soldiers patterned directly from the Emperor's own DNA, as opposed to regular marines who received their enhancements second-hand from the Primarchs.

Which is why I find it silly they haven't left the Golden Throneroom in 10,000 years, but that's another discussion.

Really?

I would probably go with the
Adeptus Astra Telepathica
Adeptus Astronomica
Administratum.

Well, not really, I'm sure you could find much more "forgotten sects" that are much more obscure, like sects devoted to particular Imperial Saints from the original source material from White Dwarf on the Sisters of Battle (Saint Lacena, Saint Kozak, Saint Orlanda, etc.)

I mean, by "most forgotten sects of the Imperium" you don't seem to mean actual Imperial sects which are largely forgotten, but "Imperial models that GW made but no longer supplies rules to use in the game, that most people have forgotten about". Then, I guess I would say:

Imperial Guard Beastmen
Imperial Robots
Rogue Traders

All of those have had specifically labelled miniatures from GW at one point, but the first two are almost never mentioned any longer. The third is mentioned in quite a bit of the background, but all three are almost never mentioned by players as "something to field in a game". Thus, I think they qualify well as forgotten.

I'm not sure I would even want to field an Imperial Beastman or Imperial Robot unit in a game, but it would be cool to have some Rogue Trader models released for the Collector's Range. They would make nice Objective models, and I can think of cool ways you could actually use them in an Inquisitorial Codex to let you use special rules (like Master of Ordnance, etc. for Imperial Guard).

Of those, only the Adeptus Astra Telepathica actually has a proper army (or had, anyway, noone knows if the Sisters of Silence survived past the Horus Heresy).

IMO the mechanicum don't get alot of spotlight in terms of the table top, but I guess they do get more attention in novels and stuff.

Aren't they the guys that were real gaks to the Tanith first in one of the books in the saint saga?

In the Saint that was the Royal Volpone "Bluebloods"

In The Founding it was the Jantine Patricians.

Vitrian Dragoons were the ones who backed up the Ghosts and wiped out elements of the Patricians when they sought to wipe out the Ghosts.

I would side with Adeptus Mechanicus. The Background for them has already given rough outlines of possible troops choices for such a force. Like Skitarii, Heavy servitors, Some other variant of arco flagellants. And tech guard in general. I know vostroyans have their connections but they are Imperial guardsmen before all else. Not purely mechanicum.
