It looks like the guy that got fired from Ultramarines CG work. Especially the Crux he couldn't quite grasp fluid movement in HD CG work.

Oh god no don't make IG the same size as the lord of the rings stuff they are horrible to paint. The comparative sizes of the 40k figures is not a problem for me imagine how much it would cost GW to rescale everything and think how big the vehicles would have to be?

Yeah, I agree that if you like the "style" of GW miniatures, scale and proportions aside, then fair play....thankfully, it is only GW that seem to want to style their miniatures this way, so theres lots of options ofr gamers who like a more realistic feel to their miniatures.

Rhinos would be nearly as large as land raiders. Monoliths should take up a chunk of the board.

The Leman Russ would be much smaller also, If you want to be able to fit a guardsmen in the top hatch that is...The rhino would be huge, going by the same concept. Honestly, I could really care less. I want my guardsmen to be visible on the board. If they got any smaller, they'd look silly.

Tyranids are not to scale in any way at all. Carnifexii are supposed to be much larger than a rhino, while trygons are supposed to be almost twice as tall as real-size carnifexii. Even guants are supposed to be pretty small. They should be as long as a guardsmen is tall, iirc. 6 feet.

Did any of you actually look at the links I gave to accompany the image? This artist did the work purely as a personal project. He is the art director of a commercials firm that do work for engineering industries, and yes it is Terminator armour, but his own interpretation of it.

If you look at the links (especially the forum chat) you will find loads more images. Especially amusing ones like this

Judging by the number of plastic Cadians I have floating around my house, I would say GW has hit on the same model! I agree with others who have been saying that the proportions and size of the minis don't really bother them. They still look cool, and that's what is really important to me . Of course, given the true line of sight rules of 5th ed, if I were to make a army of guradsmen that were in-scale with the plastic SM minis I think I would probably be accused of MFA .

Jesus you guys are picky!!! That is an amazingly realized render, sure there are style things you could disagree with, but to create an image like that takes an incredible amount of time and skill! Even if his cape does indeed look like grandma's drapes lol

He modelled all the armour components individually...even down to articulated finger joints. I wish I could afford the hardware and software to even have a go at it.

I thought it looked a bit messy, the head seemed to be floating or something. I'm sure people who know about CGI would be able to explain what's actually wrong with the image.

On the other hand the lego terminator looks awesome!
