Agreed completelty.

The best it gets is 4+ pretty much only affects power armor armies and thus needed to be eliminated. Either a flat -1 or AP5 would have sufficed instead of just dropping it completely.

yea that makes more sense. of course would ALL ork choopas do that? it would be really scary then to see 30 slugga boyz (who have a reason to use sluggas and choppas!)

In theory yes but with the current stat-line and other things in the new Ork codex it would be completely unreasonable. If Chaos does get a new book I think it would be ok to represent chain axes in one of those fashions however. Zerkers should be as nasty and as expensive as possible in my opinion of course.

800 brethren and 2,000 other personnel were expected to reach Crows World within no more than 12 hours. They never arrived.

Let the Bell toll for those that encounter us, not for what we have encountered!

I woudl love to see Legion books (or even just a PDF) come out.

it would give chaos more flavour.

If Marines can have so many different codices, why not Chaos?

ummm.... units with the mark of slaanesh had the option to buy sonic weapons. dreads and vehicles with sonic weapons only came later in the apocalypse data sheet IIRC. btw you can make a completely legit emperors children army off of that data sheet, so there's one of your books of chaos right there. Emperors Children armies didnt have any special bonuses except for the free aspiring champions and all the crazy wargear and psychic powers. The cult legions in general didnt get that much out of the books of chaos. It was the undivided ones that were really fleshed out.

Having had a fully functioning EC list that was fluffy as hell I can answer this.

Any model could have two vet skills or one vet skill and one mark. You couldn't take two marks. However, each individual unit had restrictions on which marks they could take. Slannesh couldn't be taken on raptors and obliterators. I don't remember the other restrictions for the other gods.

Sonic weapons on non-vehicle models had to be bought. You bought your CSM for 14 points. Paid 5 points per model for the mark (in slannesh case you got warp scream (-1 Int to the other guy) and fearless) then pay another 5 points for a sonic blaster for a 24 pt. Marine. However, things that had combi bolters like terminators and bikes you could swap out for only 2 points (which was beyond awesome having a move and fire platform shooting 3 S4 AP5 shots at 24")

Missile Launchers could be swapped out for blastmasters, but you did have to pay the 20 points, and they only could only be taken by a model with MOS. Vehicles dedicated to Slannesh (those sporting warp amps (-1 or -2 to enemy LD depending on proximity) could change out any heavy bolters for sonic blasters (fluff is the only reason you would do this since the HB is a superior weapon) and any autocannon could be exchanged for a blastmaster for free as well.

Any unit dedicated to Slannesh (the whole unit having MOS) could do any of the above. However, if your entire army (not including vehicles) had the MOS and no other marks were present you could claim it to be an Emperors Children list in which case you get the bonus of any unit numbering 6 or 12 models could have a free aspiring champ upgrade (13 point value) or if it was a deamon unit (in this case damonettes or damonettes on steeds) you could get +1 to your reserve rolls for summoning that unit.

I loved my EC assault army. Loved it. I never took the siren power and the whole thing was fluffy as hell. 6 man devistator squads sporting tank hunter and Blastmasters were the bomb. Slannesh bikers or terminators using sonic blasters were devistating. Damonettes could kill anything in the game. Deamon Princes with Demonic stature and a choice of demonic weapon were brutal yet totally fluffy. My old EC list would still be viable in todays meta game and rules system. I don't think Iron warriors would do so well as they used to be build. You need more than just two units of 5 CSM to hold objectives into todays game.

My Death Guard army is the same. 7 units of 7 Plague Marines/Plauge Marine Havocs/Plague Marine Terminators. And then 3 units of 7 Plague Bearers.

How anyone can say the current 'Chaos' Codex gives you more freedom or more options or is less restrictive will never make any sense to me.

^ Agreed.
Though I ran a 14 man squad, crazy right. But it's a 14 man squad with infiltrate....take that Mech!

Yea, lots of freedom and more variety.

Hell, how about cost effective CHAOS SPAWNS!

This is a little story about four people named Everybody, Somebody, Anybody, and Nobody.
There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it.
Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.
Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job.
Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it.
It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.
