I don't think you should make them separate units since he is the kind of commander to promote the best and brightest (and luckiest and possibly most willing to take a bullet) to his command squad

I'm going to playtest the unit in a scenario w/ friends tomorrow. I am using Sturnn, friend is using PETE,THE MIGHTY GROT!!! http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/314679.page and other is using some special Black Templar dude

Hopefully, Sturnn and his Stormtroopers will seize the day, for CADIA!
