Lol Frazzled.

Dont take this the wrong way but this topic is funny, maybe its just me but its the kind of problem really young kids have, and the OP sounds like a young fella with those common young "problems".

Mate I learned my lesson about 28 years ago, when a "friend" like yours busted my ZX spectrum that I borrowed him. From that day any "friend" that asked me to borrow something I would say - buy your own
Its a simple thing if you program yourself to reply that... although you also have to live with your decisions and as such just dont ask anyone for anything borrowed.

My real friends know that and simply dont come to me asking for money for trivial things.
My lesson and my decision as saved me countless times from loosing friends, or get into complicated situations.

He doesn't own any paints himself, nor does he have any intention of buying any. This isn't a rare thing. He wants to keep them for long periods of time, even though he knows I have piles of miniatures and commissions to do.

Not to mention, he's messy. He spilled half of my chaos black, and gets little paint finger prints all over the pot. He's not the best painter either..

So what should I do dakka? I've got a lot of work to do, and not being able to paint is a real PITA.

Not even going to read the thread, just echo what everyone else is telling you:

Say NO, in a very firm voice, and suggest he buys his own paints. And if you can't do that, then just give him his own paints, and buy more and get on with your painting. But I think telling someone who is being lazy, cheap and unreasonable, "NO", is probably best.

....and lo!.....The Age of Sigmar came to an end when Saint Veetock and his hamster legions smote the false Sigmar and destroyed the bubbleverse and lead the true believers back to the Old World.

Or just put them on the phone with me. No says "Give me my stuff back, and while you're at it Get a job ya bum!" like a bitter old man.

-"Wait a minute.....who is that Frazz is talking to in the gallery? Hmmm something is going on here.....Oh.... it seems there is some dispute over video taping of some sort......Frazz is really upset now..........wait a minute......whats he go there.......is it? Can it be?....Frazz has just unleashed his hidden weiner dog from his mini bag, while quoting shakespeares "Let slip the dogs the war!!" GG
-"Don't mind Frazzled. He's just Dakka's crazy old dude locked in the attic. He's harmless. Mostly."

I say you kick him in the nuts and take your paints back. Who the helll does he think he is "Insisting you leave your paints at his house."

Tell your friend to stop being a bum and buy his own damn paints.

I lol considering I already said we figured this out. But anyway, my reasoning for even giving him the paints in the first place was to be a nice guy and let him get his skills up so he feels inspired to buy his own. Bah, being nice only pays off for so long before people use to blow up the death star

You could always buy him his own set of paints, Walmart sells some very cheap water colors.

This is not difficult.

If your "friend" is just a freeloader who doesn't even take care of your stuff, don't lend it. Take your stuff back ASAP, and when he asks to "borrow", tell him to buy his own.

When your "friend" can be responsible, then you can consider it. If he whines, he's not really your friend, just a user.
