Homicidal Veteran Blood Angel Assault Marine

The really interesting part about Cypher's 2nd ed rules was that he could be accompanied by a bodyguard of Fallen, who counted as Chaos veterans (except they had And They Shall Know No Fear). They were taken as an elite choice and could be in an Imperial Guard or Chaos army!
Yeah, Imperial Guard with a space marine captain and veteran squad? I used him all the time. Fluffwise he wasn't really part of the army and he just showed up Legion of the Damned style to help out.
And his armor SHOULD have been black. All pre-heresy Dark Angels wore black. I converted my Cypher mini from Brother Bethor the DA standard bearer (before they made the model). I painted Cypher and all of my fallen black with a little green trim
My fallen all have power weapons and two of them have a melta and a plasma (don't mind the guy with the broken sword, The remaining handguard makes an effective set of brass knuckles)

2nd used the old Fantasy based system(to hit modifiers, Armor Save Mods, Characters/Units/Vehicles/Allies split, individual weapon statlines); 3rd started the current "streamlining" way(Force Organization Charts, AP system, etc.) that's still recognizable today. They were entirely different games with entirely different ways of doing things.

Lieutenant Colonel

The Dark Angels really suffer from the Eldest Child syndrome, being the 1st Legion and all that nonsense. (Obviously the Emprah found that naughty scamp Horus before he found the Lion, but The Lion got the 1st Legion title!). I find it really difficult to fathom how the DA have time in their diaries to fight the enemies of the emperor, given their quest finding the fallen ones, interrogating them, slapping the odd wolf in the chops, riding around on bikes & speeders pretending to be Black Carrion birds, oh painting their most experienced brothers with white paint. They are so self interested and superior, like i said Eldest child syndrome!

Collecting Forge World 30k????? If you prefix any Thread Subject line on 30k or Pre-heresy or Horus Heresy with [30K] we can convince LEGO and the Admin team to create a 30K mini board if we can show there is enough interest! |
