Here is the second Tactical Squad and Predator. All the tank weapons are magnetized and can be switched out. Unfortunately I am out of white primer and it will take me a while to build up enough patience to buy a stupid $15 can of GW spray primer. Anyway, I am chomping to build a pre-heresy army. I am slowly putting together the pieces. My idea of Fallen was a complete failure so I am trying to decide Word Bearers, Emperors Children, or Space Wolves. Actually I may start my Ork army instead. At any rate.....

So I finished the Chaplain, he is ok I guess. I broke down and painted the Storm which has been sitting in my drawer almost a year. I am going to leave off the 3 "hanging" scouts, I think it makes the model look too busy. I also found an old beat up Land Speeder. Im going to hit the bits and see what I can do with it.

I like the progress youve made in such a short time! These models really catch my eye. I like the hard lining you did to the models....great work!

4250 points of Blood Angels goodness, sweet and silky W12-L6-D4
1000 points of Teil-Shan (my own scheme) Eldar Craftworld in progress
800 points of unassembled Urban themed Imperial Guard
650 points of my do-it-yourself Tempest Guard
675 points of Commoraghs finest!

Looking great, just need one detail...either drill the gun barrels or give them a drop of black for depth.

Whats my game?
Warmachine (Cygnar)

So this guy has been in my drawer about 10 years. He was once part of my original Black Templar army back when the Armageddon codex was released. I decided to fix him up with the hundreds of bits I have. The model was so beat up it was hard to get a good white finish. I think these pictures actually look better than the model itself. Anyway here he is. I am going to break down and write up an army list because this project is about to go wildly out of control. About a year and a half ago I built a Praetorian IG army. Very cool models, still dont know how I managed to get 120 of them. Anyway....

HQ- Cpt with Digital Wpn and Relic Blade, Bike
Command Squad- Company Champion, 2 Power Swords, Meltagun, Bikes
HQ- Chaplain, Digital Wpn, Bike

E- 5 Terminators with Assault Cannon
E- 10 Sternguard with 2 Combi Meltas and a Hvy Flamer, Drop Pod
E- 5 Legion of the Damned (just because)

T- 10 Tactical Marines- Missle Launcher, Power Sword, Meltagun, Rhino

T- 5 Scouts- Hvy Bolter, Teleport Homer
T- 5 Bikes- Meltagun

FA- 2 Landspeeders with Assault Cannons 1 with Hvy Bolter and 1 with Multimelta
FA- Land Speeder Storm
FA- Attack Bike- Multimelta

HS- Thunderfire Cannon
HS- Predator
HS- Predator

Im going to make the Rhinos so they can also be Razorbacks. May include a couple more Attack Bikes, depends on how cool they look. I will probably build a Dreadnought too. Love those guys. I see the Bikes going up the center causing havoc and killing things, 1 Tac squad holding the home objective, the Land Speeders taking a contested OBJ and dropping off the scouts, Sternguard, 2nd Tac Squad taking a third. Predators go where they need. Thunderfire preps Land Speeder OBJ. Teleport Homer will bring in the Terminators to reinforce the scouts. Have no idea if this will work or is legal.

Looking great, only suggestion is to drill out your barrels. Makes a world of difference.

These guys are looking great and it looks like you're making great progress. Wtg for playing White Scars but yet not spamming the bikes. Genghis Kahn didn't use only calvary with arrows for his wars, why should we only use bikes?

Nice work magnetizing the pred, btw. Keep up the great progress!

Love the red pattern on the Predator! And since everyone else is saying it: "How about drilling out your barrels?" ;P

I would advice against a pre-heresy Word Bearer (even thought I love all the great fluff they got in the latest horus heresy novel), since you could field unprimed minis and call em a pre-heresy Word Bearers ;P Go with the Emperors Children, nice and colourful!

Yeah, my only comment was going to be drill the barrels.

In leiu of that, you could use your Micron pen to draw a black circled on the barrel.

OH-I Wanna get out of here

Can we get some pics of the back side of the sternguard bolters? I want to see how you covered the back side of the storm bolter half. It looks very good btw, as does the army as a whole.

Thanks for all the compliments. The Sternguard bolters just had some green stuff placed in the recesses, nothing fancy. Ive gone to the hobby store and have checked out a few drills. Ill probably wait until Im done with the project to drill the guns. I was planning on Word Bearers pre-heresy because the book "The First Heretic". I was going to fashion the army after the chapter in the book. But I think Limbo is right, the army would look like a bunch of rocks. Besides Ive never done a purple army. That may get put aside for a new IG army Im thinking of. I have about 50 scouts on the sprue. Im thinking with a little conversion work they would be cool veterans. Ive done Catachan, Cadian, and Praetorians. I love IG armies, but the problem is the IG minatures, Im never really satisfied with them. But the tanks rock.

2 glorius things happened today and I cant decide which is best. I got 12 new on sprue bikes on ebay for $100 and bought 2 Forgeworld Razorbacks with Whitescars doors and Florida State stomped the hated Florida Gators 31-07. GO NOLES!!!

So I got in my 12 bikes and Forgeworld stuff. Those Razorback turrets are really cool. Im going to use the 3rd door on the next Predator. As always, Im leaving the Rhino tops unglued so they can also be used as Razorbacks. The bikes are very time consuming, but look great. That pile of bits is going to be my commander, maybe. I used a Ravenwing head with a bunch of comms gear on it. I figure a Whitescars force would be more spread out so the commander needs better stuff. If he doesnt work out Ill figure something else out.

Heres a quick tip, when your done building the rest of your bikes, spray them all at once and do each part of the bike at a time. E.g: do the saddles all at once. Also, add some character to your commander, try some Horus Heresy shoulder pads. Just like he is a very decorated commander. Give him some good rich background which explains his Heresy armour.

Hope i could help, and keep up the good work

Hey thehod, Good to see a fellow Nole out there. Im feeling good about the ACC championship game tonight. Of course I was at FSU in the mid 90's when every game was a given win! As far as tricking out the commander, I see Whitescars as keeping the armor clean so they reduce the drag on the bikes. Not alot of robes and ornaments. Does that make sense?

Well, I guess winning the ACC was too much to ask of Jimbo during his first year. Im sure everyone is just as proud of my Noles as I am for beating the Hurricanes and hated Gators this season. Back to my Whitescars and I wont bore you with Dallas Cowboys updates. Ugh.
