Looking sublime. Are there going to be any gun emplacements set up around the inner edge of the trench or will you just use vehicles?

Long time reader, first time poster (OK, not first time, but it sure sounds good)

From 'regular' plastic modelling, old (or new) toothpaste works well for sandbags.

GREAT STUFF here..I've always wanted to setup a trench system, but styrofoam doesn't cut it.

How'd you do the firing positions? I know they're made out of lollipop sticks/coffee stirers, but how did you make them go like that? Got chunks of polystyrene and glued them on?
P.S: loving the duckboards

There looks like theres a good enough area for tanks to operate there. Driving over verges and shooting down into the trenches would be awesome fun!

Yes. If you look at the first lot of pics you can see the way that the foam in the trench area was cut with the firing step in place. I then stuck each "plank" one by one onto the foam base to create the boarding

Great work!! This looks very well thought out and is coming together very well. Keep up the great work!! I love how there's not just one part of the terrain that really stands out above the rest but it's the planks and the barbed wire and the sandbags and everything else that really ties together to make a really exciting piece of terrain. You're doing great with this!

its been a few weeks since i last posted but work, kids, wow and life in general have been conspiring against me getting things done with this project log. I have been tinkering with the detail though, and I have finally got to the stage where i am happy with the results and have base coated the whole thing. Here are a few pics.

I also took a pick of the template that i use to ensure that all sections of the trench system fit together. I build up the blue foam and then hold up the template to the side of the section. I then run the hot wire cutter along the edge of the template and you have perfectly matching sections every time. I am going to keep the template so that i can add sections at a later date.

at the moment I am looking for models of small US style fire hydrants if anyone has any idea where I can find some please let me know

Looks good. I like how you can use on on a flat table without making it seem awkward. Or having to build it into the table. I've always wondered about the FW trench system and how hard it would be to do your own.

Good work! I've been trying to think of ways to make a good trench system and I'm probably going to steal a few ideas from you. Looks great. Should be a lot of fun to play on.
