Dropping a Furioso is not that effective you need to drop 2 first turn heavy flamer and melta in a drop pod is very effective from what I have seen but you need 3 drop pods to be able to drop both dreads in first turn but never the less they do alot of damage and with the 13 front armor and blood talons its fun to see they can go through a squad of marines like nothing except power fists those can be a pain. but still they give the rest of your army time to move.

They seemed very good when I used them, they have an attached melta. I used 2 and then 1 empty drop pod.

In 1k points it's tough to get more than 1 furioso on the board, much less with three drop pods. I absolutely love them though, so I am trying to figure a way out to bring one in conjunction with a lot of jump packs.
1k Blood angel lists are pretty hard to make I find.
@MadMaverick, I like your list from the first page, but how did you get the extra empty drop pod? Can you just buy one, or does it have to be for a unit?

Furioso, blood talons, EA 140
Pod 35

= 1000
Doublemelta squads pop tanks, dreads eat infantry. Lib gives the dreads a cover save. Either drop the 3 assault squads or 3 dreads first, according to the situation.
Have fun

What happens when they kill off your 15 troop models?
How does the lib give the dreads a cover save on turn 1 if you drop just 3 dreads?
I see that list as "Here's half my army, you have one free turn to take it down. When your done, the rest will come in piecemeal." But maybe I'm seeing it wrong?
EDIT: typo

If you are going to drop the Furioso's in give em a heavy flamer they are worth it. So how does this whole thing go down? 3 Furioso's first turn or is it going to be 2 furiosos the lib and his squad or...?

Generally I believe you can just buy one, but I may be wrong, although I haven't found anything say otherwise yet. That list I have been using has been very useful so far, it worked quite well vs mech IG and a Kans wall Orks, the only bonus is that I can always drop the pods for an extra predator/scouts if I like it. Twin Furiosos have been deadly especially on turn 1.

You can just buy one, its a dedicated transport, it has to be for a unit.
Automatically Appended Next Post:
Drop 2 dreads + lib squad, kill 3 tanks, give dreads a coves save, profit?
Drop 3 dreads, hide behind pods to get a cover save, next turn assault squad drops, kill tank, furiosos kill infantry, profit?
Dont decide in advance how youll drop, go according to the situation. Sometimes its better to drop the assaults squads first, sometimes the dreads, sometimes a mix.

I tried running Scout snipers in my tournament I played, they failed every job. They gob shot up and missed all their sniper shots on the objective. And then I figured, hel why not use them as bait for the guy to go assault...he shot them up first turn. I'd rather prefer to drop them for another pred, or drop the pred and the scouts for a furioso dread or two.
Well if they shot them up then that is just unlucky how many 2+ saves did you fail?
Either that our you equiped them and used them wrong. Sniper scouts aren't there to kill anything because they rarely will. They sit on an objective and go to ground so the enemy has to get into assault range to take them out (either with assault or with a flamer).
They use to have better WS/BS and that made them pretty damn useful, just like normal marines except with a different armor save.
Equipe them with CCW and they are basically as effective as they've ever been. Same number of attacks as assault marines and same S and I, Ws is largely irrelevant these days and effects their survivability more than their hitting power.

Just got back from my trip, sorry I haven't posted. I played a second game, with the same list I used before. I did well by winning through annihilation in Seize the Group (Right?). I forgot to put my objectives as close to mid field as I could, but it ended up not mattering, no matter, lesson learned.
Thanks for the help everyone!
