Let us know if it's any better than the Necromunda paintball arena next door, eh? That place rocks! Man, buying out Disney was the best move GW ever made!

I would rank buying out Disney below GW buying out the rights to Marvel Comics... how cool is the MMORPG they are releasing in 2012?!

AmbivalentPurpleKicker would go on to write in his diary:
Interesting day all in all. Was having quite a heated discussion in the office about the Battlefleet Gothic Nationals today at the coffee machine, Nev and Clarkey think that signing Cole to play for the Cornish Imperials was a bad move, but I strongly think that we need a strong Ordnance player, his twin Emperor list is a gamble but I like it, it shows he's willing to take chances. That guy Luke showed up as we were all laughing about the Ork Space Hulk going critical in last nights game, poor sod tried to join in but it was fairly obvious he doesn't have a clue what he's talking about, he's into all that 'socca' weirdness, where they all go off to a field at weekends and dress up in shorts and chase around after a ball whilst wearing earrings and hair gel, it seems a bit odd to me and Nev really hates him for it. I did read that they have to roll about on the floor a great deal, pretending to be hurt and acting like they're in pain, which at least sounded a bit more normal, perhaps it's a bit like LARPing or something if you think about it that way. I suggested that to Clarkey, who's runs his local pub's LARP team... heh, he wasn't too happy with the comparison. I invited Luke to our Malifaux weekend but I'm hoping he turns it down, he's not that bright and I'd be gutted if he started shouting all those freaky things like 'goal' or 'offside' if his miniatures get taken down again, got some very funny looks last time he came along.
Went to The Crown for lunch, watched some of the US Open 40k on the telly, pleased to see Hackers are adjusting to the new Dark Eldar Codex (lets not leave it another 5 years next time GW!) and very pleased to see no more advertising on the sides of minis any more, it was annoying as hell to read 'enjoy coca-cola' on the side of a leman russ...
Bumped into the director, Mr McMillan in the lift heading back up to our offices, he'd apparently heard about my recent battlewagon rush list success and invited me to the clubhouse at the weekend! I must remember to play a bit light, he's still a bit stuck in 3rd ed... still, the clubhouse, when Mrs Kicker heard, she started picking out a new 3 piece suite...
After work I popped into Cut and Thrust for a game and a couple of pints. Mrs Kicker was heading out for her ladies team apocalypse with her new tyranids ((MUST REMEMBER pick up that hive fleet stationary set and a bottle of 'Lilith Hesperax: Scent of a Killer' perfume for her birthday)) and so I thought I'd try a bit of warmachine, wow that game attracts the honeys, soon as you can say 'I'm just learning with my Cygnar team' you're surrounded by winsome young lasses in tight teeshirts all cooing over your paintwork and challenging you with a sly wink to try their Cryx... Well, being a happily married man, I just played them on the tables but you know what I mean, women love a man who writes a good list and knows what he's doing with a paintbrush. That reminds me, must pick up a copy of Loaded this week, it's got Kelly Brooke talking about her drybrush techniques and getting her NORKS out (apparently they are a type of necronised ork, I'm interested in which of the lists she's gone for).
Going to watch the new 'Yarrick' movie tomorrow night with the wife, some are saying Clint's getting too old for the role but I think he grows more into it each time. Also Infinity: The Animated Series starts this week and HBO's Fabius Bile dramatisation starring Patrick Stewart is on soon as well, I love Autumn tv scheduling.

I dunno I feel that's when it all went downhill. After all GW got to the top by marketing it's well-written, balanced games to thr over 25 set who have jobs and disposible income. Chasing after kids and teens is a deadend, they have no money of their own and there's no way mom and dad are going to shell out for a skull encrusted army of demon worshiping cannibals.

So after a rough patch in the 90s I was pretty happy with how things were going till around 03 or 04... so using that as the point of divergence....
October 2010, Earth Σ - Hey picked up White Dwarf today, good, good stuff. They had v3 of the Ogryn mercenary list and v2 of the Dwarf Pirate list. For Epic they had new Squat Land Train cars and rules for Apocalypse demons.
There was a short article on the old Lord of the Rings game. It was briefly popular 10 years ago when the movies were out but GW wisely dropped it after the films ended. With talk of a Hobbit film maybe GW will bring it back. But I'm a bit worried it might suck energy from Epic, Necromunda or the new Nippon army book but Andy Chambers and Paul Sawyer wrote with GW's new hires they had more then enough sculptors to handle the increased work load.
And speaking of Necro, I also picked up the new plastic Arbites. Great kit, much better than the plastic Arbis we got back in '06. Not only can they flesh out my gang but I can use them with the Codex Arbites in last month's WD. Wow, it's amazing to think about but since Paul announced there would be a new army list in every issue of WD we now have almost 100 playable factions, Ork clans, 3 Inquisition Ordos, 4 Battle Sister Orders, Assassins, 7 different Craftworlds, Exodites, Lost and the Damned, Chaos Terror Cults... I can't even count how many marine and chaos marine lists. Thank goodness for the index and PDFs on GW's site.
Sure not all of them are balanced (Codex Custodus v1 was especially bad) but by the 2nd or 3rd version they usually have them ironed out. The constant polls, comments and feedback on GW's site are especially helpful. Where else can WAAC, noob and fluffy players come together to create something good? I'm going on tonight to report the latest results for my Chaos Armored Company.
Gotta say, the future looks bright for GW.

I'd visit one just like the one we're in now, only there aren't any sarky and whiney fools moaning about what's really their favourite company in the whole wide world
Actually, scratch that, a world where GW is nationalised and producing products at break-even prices.

It would be called British Games Workshop and incorporate, Warlord, Westwind and a host of other games rules and mini producers. You would never ever buy a mini that was made on a Friday.
