MongooseDoggy, for a new painter, that is an exceptionally neatly painted Dread. You have gotten some great advice in this thread and have put it to use, the best I can give is to never stop experimenting. Bits of sprue are perfect for trying out highlighting and layering, or even using washes. They are also great for testing colour combinations or other techniques like drybrushing, stippling, using a sponge etc. I am sure you have already learned a lot from painting this guy, and it is fantastic to see someone new to the hobby also basing their work!
