But on a side note I once read an article about how the orignal idea to expand the aliens storyline was to make a movie where Ripply had returned to earth and then have it so that spores fell from the skies and basicly the aliens invaded earth er somthing. Would have made a cool movie imo.
Not me!
I tend to see AVP everytime I look at certain GW work... like this one:
Perhaps he WAS a Striking Scorpion before he was killed by a Kroot and has his soul interred in the gem on its head?

Do not associate them with their predecessors. And, if you wish to go with Movie : Wargames, please first consider Starship Troopers, its 'Nids v IG all the way. Hells yeah! The aliens look so close to nid warriors. They even have biovores which shoot plasma balls.

Really?
Really now?
Anyway, I always equated the aliens with genestealers (Seriously, Space Hulk makes it impossible not to) and the predator with orks (They do, after all, seem to have an addiction to hunting the biggest game).
And I HATE HATE HATE the idea of Predator honor. Remember in the first movie, how the "honorable" predator snuck up on Billy from behind instead of fighting him in a duel?
Sorry, when did that happen? Is it some kind of directors cut - unless you are mistakenly referring to the later scene where you see the Predator throw Billy's lifeless body to the floor after he has already killed him? (you heard his death-scream some minutes previously)
Predators is an OK movie, I would rank it close to Predator 2 in that at least it has some good concepts and tries to target fans of the original movies (and perhaps people who remember those films first time round, there were just so many references) rather than 13yr olds as was the case with the AvP films.
