Because I think that Vader being Luke's dad was a decision made solely for shock value, not because it actually fit the original story.
In the original, Obi-Wan's info on Luke's dad is pretty clearly indicating that Vader is a different person. The whole "He killed your father from a certain point of view" is pretty dumb, IMO. It makes the Jedi seem like lying, deceitful lawyers, and not the super-noble warrior monks that they should be.

Too each their own then I suppose. I really think the Jedi should be portrayed in both lights, and wouldn't it be easier to get someone to fight the Empire if they thought the Emperor's right hand man killed your father, rather than is him?
To a degree Vader did kill Skywalker or rather Skywalker 'killed' himself when he went Darkside, and for a time Vader was really all that was left.
When it comes down to it even the most 'noble' of warriors will use misdirection when they need to in order to get the job done.

I think their obsession with "points of view" to the detriment of seeing what's right in front of them is a pretty good explanation of how this powerful organization managed to be hunted to near-extinction.

I know this is ot, but if we are complaining about the movies here, Darth Maul should have stuck around for longer. Grevious was dumb, and he got his own mini series, and now a full length show. Darth maul was way cooler than him.

Grevious was cool in "Star Wars Clone Wars". (not to be confused with Star Wars The Clone Wars)

Took a while, but my Review Copy finally arrived. Took me under 6 hours to beat the game.
Overall, I did not enjoy this game. At all. It plays pretty much exactly as the first game, but all the cool fights against other Jedi have been replaced by really boring "fight giant moster stuff". The entire part on Dagobah is a joke, nay, an insult. Boba Fetts cameo is equally useless.
It's also one of the few games that are somehow too short and too long at the same time. The second level on the Rebel ship was just padding and the Cato Namodia parts was also too long.
Last but not least: I can accept that Darth Vader wanted to overthrow the Emperor with a really powerful apprentice. I can accept, that he wanted to clone him, to try again, but without the mushi feelings and stuff.
But why, in the Force's name, did he clone an entire army? I mean, litteraly the entire Kamino cloning facility was full of Starkiller clones. Why? And where the hel did they all get Lightsabers? You can't mass produce lightsabers!
btw.: the first DLC was already announced.

Actually, you can mass produce lightsabers. The whole Shadow Academy debacle and then "I, Jedi" by Stackpole talked about how they can be mass produced, but the Jedi Order preferred the handmade approach because it made the Jedi feel a bond with their weapons and instills a sense of accomplishment/pride in their accomplishment along with a sense of responsibility for what they made.
The mass produced variants were still decent, but...they were also made with no specific wielder in mind, so suffered from having to be dumbed down with that caveat in place.
Although, I guess if you were mass producing cloned Jedi that last part wouldn't really matter.

Is there really such a thing as a bad laser-sword that cuts through everything that isn't woven with cortosis?

Yes because the Lightsaber in the Force Unleashed series is terrible. It won't cut through hardly anything with out multiple slices.

Really? Thanks for the correction, I hate it when I'm wrong with my Star Wars Nerd talk.

Sure there is.
There's the badly built laser-sword that explodes in your hand because of a bad power feedback
