Let's suppose the non-muslim population is 98% of the total and chooses its boys' names from a list of 300.

The average percentage of population per name will be 0.33.

If the 2% muslim population chooses its boys' names from a list of two (Mohammed and Abdul) then the average percentage per name will be 1, so the Muslim name will be first on the list.

Obviously I have made up these figures for the same of the demonstration.

I came on to take the piss out of our American friends because this morning on Facebook my Yank mate from Oklahoma posted a pic of his 3 nephews/niece and they were called Piper,Tyson, and Maylee...

And then you drop that bloody bombshell.

What the hell is wrong with people!? Ridiculous baby names are a pet hate of mine. I hate the way how everyone loves to think their smelly little brats are "special" when we number in the billions and breed like rats. They arent special, so dont give them "special" names that sound ridiculous.

Seriously, Riven Ronin and Raven?!

Take your mate for a bloody CAT Scan!

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.

Ah the kids seem fine with it! Better than being a Chanetelle etc. Or worst of all, Someting-Marie. Christ, there was an epidemic of Chavs named like that a few years back.

And the Yanks still name kids 'Randy'. I mean, can you imagine chatting a bird up with like that?? It might go something like that....

'Hi Bird. I'm Randy'
'Pervert'
'ARRGH! MY TESTICLES!'

In my 16 years, out of all of the people I have met, I have known only 4 people with the same name as me, Nathan.

One is in the year below me at school, one is a manager at a local GW, and the others aren't actually nathans, they are Nathaniels.

(Unless you count Nathan Petrelli from Heroes, he's the only other I know of)

(my school has around 800 people)

Jesus (hesus in pronuciation) is only common in latin america, and Britain doesn't have many latin american immigrants, and i don't think muslims are allowed to use Allah to name their children

Allah is the name of God.

It would be like calling your son God.

I suspect the registrar would refuse to allow this in the UK. I don't know if they have the legal authority to do so. A court case would occur. The judge would decide on the consideration of the benefit of the child.

There have been one or two court cases in other Commonwealth jurisdictions where judges have refused the parents the legal right to call their children something remarkably stupid.

I don't think a court case would ever occur as muslim parents would never call their child Allah due to the reaction they would recieve from other muslims, suffering from alot more peer pressure than most other groups.

I'm more worried for the kids that get called Hitler or bus stop 17. I found this list of nmes given to kids in one year in New York state:

Weird names for Boys:

Abba
Abyss
Amen
Andrew's
Apple
As-Matik
Bear
Blade
Brando
Charm
Confession
Dwarf
GQ
Gal
Go
Godly
Gospel
Hey
Holy
Infinite (3 of them in fact)
Knight Sir Lancelot
Lisa
Stalin
Stallone
Truth
Unique

Weird Names for Girls

Alaska
Albert
Beautiful
Beautiphul
Boat
Chaos
Chevy
Chevette
Choice
Cuba
Dynasty
Final
Galaxy
He
Infinity
N/A
Nada
Precious Angel
Prince
Promise
Providence
Sin
Sparkle
Story
Symphony
Tall
Tangerine
Tequilla
Treasure
Unique
Virgin
Wednesday
ZC

and this was only in 1994, i'm not sure some people understand the fact that kids are naturally cruel, and they are setting their child up for a world of abuse.

My dad drives school bus and he had kids on his bus named "zoltan" and "Matrix".

You'd have to really hate your kid to name him "zoltan'.

--The whole concept of government granted and government regulated 'permits' and the accompanying government mandate for government approved firearms 'training' prior to being blessed by government with the privilege to carry arms in a government approved and regulated manner, flies directly in the face of the fundamental right to keep and bear arms.

Zoltan's actually a traditional Hungarian name, though. The NE Patriots' current punter is named Zoltan.

When my brother was born, the state of NC tried to say he had to have his dad's last name. Both of us have, instead, traditional Swedish patronyms, Arneson, as our father's first name is Arne. We convinced them otherwise, though the ACLU helped out.

People should be free, generally, to name kids however they want, but the price of that is the absurd names we see on lists like the above.

Still, as Fateweaver and the state of North Carolina demonstrate to us, absurd is in the eye of the beholder.

From the state's perspective naming conventions are actually a pretty significant administrative issue. Its difficult to determine who might be liable for whom if there is no stable method of nomenclature regarding family.

We could resolve this in various ways, and to some extent have done so via SSNs, but there is an odd resistance to giving people full on serial numbers.

Something about death camps.
