Yea, I need to pick up a LR, I'm going to proxy one in a game vs my friend to try out the list. Thanks for the help, and opinions guys.

DA bikes are still effective. Expensive for the basic 3-man bike squad, but they're Fearless and can Scout Move or Outflank. More importantly, though, the multimelta attack bikes are the same price as C:SM ones... except ours are also Fearless and can Scout Move or Outflank.

12" scout move + 12" move + multimeltas = a terrified mech opponent, if you get 1st turn. Alternatively, outflanking 12" move multimeltas are also pretty nasty, if you don't get 1st turn.

So if I don't get first turn, keep them in reserve, then outflank? Wouldn't I want to keep my DW Termies further away so I can shoot more? Locators aren't useful then right?

Nothing says you're required to use a locator if it's in play. And many times, even with shooty terminators, you want to be advancing as you fire anyway (remember, Terminators can move and shoot).

Storm Bolters = Assault 2 correct?

So drop them like 24" away and advance?

Storm Bolters weren't exactly what I had in mind. More the Assault Cannon and Cyclone Missile launcher, but 24" away works. It really depends on the mission being played. More than likely you're not going to be outshooting anything, and you may have to move in on an objective to secure it, or in a worst case scenario, contest it.

Ahh, my bad, I'll be sure to put some Assault Cannons and Cyclone Missile launchers in. So the point is to have a good balance of aggressiveness and defense?

I play my Deathwing a bit differently. I prefer to have my units designed for specific uses, and don't mix the weapons because I want the most effect out of each unit. I have two pure assault units (because even terminators can run, so why move and shoot?), two assault canon units (my forward moving units) and two cyclone missle launcher units (take and hold units). Belial leads one of the assault units, and I have two Venerable Dreads with LC/ML load-out for anti-armor effects.

I only ever DS Belial and his squad (unless i'm being silly, then everyone DS's) and use them as a distration/decoy, causing as much havoc as possible to focus attention away from the rest of my units.

It's not the most maximixed list, but I enjoy it. 6 Troop choices of terminators is nice, as anything in your army can claim objectives.

Sounds fun, however I'd be working with 1k points.

Pure Deathwing don't really work at 1000 pts, IMO.

Here's what I'd go for at 1000:

Sammael on jetbike (205)

Ravenwing Assault Squad: 3-man, 2 plasma guns, apothecary, Multimelta Attack Bike (215)

Ravenwing Assault Squad: 3-man, 2 flamers, sarge with power weapon & bolt pistol, Multimelta Attack Bike (195)

Ravenwing Assault Squad: 3-man, 2 flamers, sarge with power weapon & bolt pistol, Multimelta Attack Bike (195)

Ravenwing Assault Squad: 3-man, 2 meltas, Multimelta Attack Bike (190)

Stay away from trouble -- the power weapon sarges are NOT intended to give the impression that Ravenwing should be in close combat, other than against the most tiny, already flamed-to-bits opponents.

I considered Ravenwing, and I really like them. However, bikes are so expensive, and I already have enough termies for a DW army. I have no bikes.

Any suggestions?

BTW: That list looks great.
