Yeah, for me it was 2 (Gold/Silver/Crystal) Those are my favorite for no real reason.

Well G/S/C is generally referred to as the greatest generation.

I happened across Pokemon on a day off. Thought that whatever I had ingested the night before was still in my system.

Realising I wasn't intoxicated I actually enjoyed the strange scenes of small cute animals being forced to fight and being herded into a tiny living space for the amusement of sadistic and brutal children and adults alike, the animals helplessly trying to communicate their plight by saying their species name over and over again (thickos).

I dusted off my old gameboy and brought the original Pokemon Red version soon after.

Bull. You don't get better than R/B/Y.

I used to play religiously, though after Gold and Silver I grew out of it and all the pokemon designs were dumb.

My most used:

Alakazam
Golem
Blastoise
Butterfree
Bellsprouts biggest (forgot the name )
Ninetails

I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.

Yea Alakazam was a badass for sure. Couldnt take a hit very well, but damn would that thing do damage

My fav attack though was the earthquake one that graveler (and whatever its final evolution is I cant remember now lol) hitting magnitude 8/9/10 was just the tits

Not sure how the competitions were, I never played the TCG, as long as you're not like the Beedrill guy.

Sorry, is it not? Didn't realize that we'd need to macho posture on a toy soldier forum.

Actually the games have fairly steadily increased in quality as the versions have gone up. Not to mention they're just flat out more polished, Missingno was amusing but really shouldn't have been there.

Totally agreed. Anyone who says the old ones are better needs to actually play the newer ones. It's now a fairly in-depth strategy game as well as the rock-paper-scissors collection race that it was before.

As i said, people are bisad towards the game they grew up with.
the majority grew up with G/S/C so they are regarded as the best. In maybe 5 years, R/S/E willl be the best

So you were a masochist back then?

My buddy and I both are pretty excited for Black & White to come out. So excited, we're playing the other DS versions waiting for it to come out. I dug out my old GBA and copy of Fire Red. Currently playing through Diamond so I can get to the point where you can transfer from the GBA games. Then I'm going to go back and beat fire red as well. I'm not as crazy as my friend though, he bought heart gold, a copy of platnum(he never beat his copy of pearl), and is going back and beating his copy of saffire and leaf green so he can have a complete pokedex on heart gold before black and white come out.

I believe it was; give a pokemans the item you wanna clone, put the pokemon in a box, change boxes, while the "DO NOT TURN OF POWER" message is scrolling you turn it off. Then, you have an example of the pokemon (with item) both in your party and in the box.

Yeah?

That's the one I'm familiar with. I don't think I've ever gotten that mew glitch to work...Which is sort of funny...Isn't he literally impossible to get? Or does he run around the map? I can't remember

I played Blue, and thats it.
Pokemon is the money grubbing-est game series ever.
Two games every release? With minor differences? Who do they think they are.

...urrrr... I dunno

Man, nothing beats raising a team of bad-asses. Even if they are A) not the best pokemon in the game and B) things I liked the look of.

Waaagh! Gorskar = 2050pts
Iron Warriors VII Company = 1850pts
Fjälnir Ironfist's Great Company = 1800pts

While I do agree with you on the "money grubbing" comment, it worked fine when I was a kid, some of us would have blue and others would have red (and later silver/gold), so we could clone up and trade all the monsters quite easily.

Yeah, but thats also what I don't like.
"What, you want that pokemon to evolve?
Find someone with the other game and a cable and trade them."
What a rip.

Hmmm, that was somewhat annoying. Very annoying, actually. But hey, I had a lot of friends who played, and at least one of them had a cable, so it was never a problem.

I didn't have the attention span to play the game, but I love the concept and the cartoons.
