Hi everyone!
Thanks for all feedback!
Tobber1202 I'm not really sure which i prefer, one pointing finger might look more dramatic but the "whole hand pointing" (?) is more realistic and rational. But I might just reassemble it completely, I dont know why but the way it turned out just doesn't do it for me.
Unfortunately I haven't done much progress, shame on me, since I'm swamped with school-stuff. It seems as if I won't be able to relax and have a life until early January. But I will at least try to do some progress every week though it might not be anything worth taking pics of. I am however finished casting the missile launcher parts that I mentioned in my last update (and they tuned out great actually!) so now I just have to clean up the casts and assemble my last LFs.
I also got a load of bitz last week that I bought from e-bay so now I have all the parts that I need to build the rest of my tanks (yeeehaw!).
So, till next time, ta-ta!

Good to have you back on dakka Balefire_storm, it haven't been the same without you!
Thanks, I thought the old minis were too cool to not be used, and I really like the result! But it's also for nostalgic reasosn, a remembrancer from a distant past.
I hope to face your marines in a near future as well, would be interesting to battle another marine-army!

Glad to be back. Been far too long and I have actually even managed to start painting a few of my own models (Chaos team Blood bowl though). There's a chance they will be posted later this week.

Hi everyone!
The other day it didn't seem as I would be able to post any pictures for a while since my camera died on me! But since both me and my girlfriend needs a camera we bought one together. So hopefully camera breakdowns won't be a problem for some years.
I haven't done that much since my last update due to the Christmas holiday and some schoolwork. I got a really awesome Christmas present though, my girlfriends sisters boyfriend gave me a load of his old GW-stuff. This included 1 GH-squad, 1 BC-sguad, 2 LF squads, 13 GH in terminator armor, Bjorn the fellhanded, a couple of characters plus some IG (some guardsmen, ogryns..), CSM (some marines, terminators, Abaddon, juggernaut...) and some fantasy stuff (dwarfs and some old plastic wood elfs)! Everything is from the old 2ed metal range, so now I got 4 old missile launchers which is just great since I originally planned to have a mix of old and new minis and weaponry but those old missile launchers that I could find were so darn expensive so I went for new ones instead.
I have begun assembling some old LFs, one problem though is that they wield their launchers with one hand leaving the other to do nothing. And since the models poses ain't exactly dynamic to start with they look kinda stiff with the free hand doing nothing. So anyone with an idea what they should do with the free hand please feel free to share it with me!
I have continued working on my 13th grey hunter and I would very much like some feedback on it, that would be greatly appreciated.
Apart from that have I started working on some iron warriors, will post a picture as soon as I got anything substantial to show, and started to collect a warmachine force.
The quality of the pictures could probably be better, but it's the first time I use my new camera and they are taken in a haste. So without further ado, here's the pictures!
LF 8
LF 9
LF 10
GH 13 Before anyone starts to wonder, the bolter is going to to have a gun sling. Some feedback would be great since I'm not really sure about the knife sheath's or the bolter, but just some general feedback would be great as well!

Thanks guys! I really appreciate your feedback! It makes things feel more worthwhile!
So you don't think the knife sheath's make the "knifedude" look bulky? And I'm thinking on whether to make some runes or so on the legs or if I should keep it as it is...? And perhaps truescaling would be neat, but since it's just another grayhunter that would look kinda strange in comparison to the others, so sorry to let you down Q0rbin but there won't be no truescaling, not this time
Yeah shockwave, I did settle for Khador, the choice was easy really. Their warjacks are totally awesome, especially the Behemoth, so how could I resist! And slowly but surely my force is growing. So far I got the battlegroup, a box of widowmakers, a marksman and are awaiting a box of both kossites and assasains. So when I come home till summer I'll have an battleforce to play with. I actually started painting as well, which i haven't done for almost five years or so, not properly anyway. The cygnar are awesome as well, their jacks are cool but I really like their characters. And with the Journeymen warcasters it seems you can go really jack heavy! Actually after checking out their armylist, I got a little keen on getting a small Cygnar force myself...
And shockwave and Q0rbin, did you guys hang out the other day, cause I got exactly the same response on my sms hmmm...

Looking great! For the knife guy, I think the kni ein his left hand would look more natural tilted outwards and a bit back against the forearm. Alternatively, turning the head to the left might also help. Anyway, nice models!

Hi!
For those who wonder what I've been up to here is the answer! As I mentioned in my last post I have started to collect a Khador battlegroup and thats where my attention has been these last weeks. Since my Khadorians doesen't need that much converting, well perhaps there would be more converting hadn't the models had such impossible poses (If I have to rebuild the model simply to change an arm pose, I rather don't), so I've actually started painting! And since I haven't painted for about five years its like starting from scratch all over again.
When I'm done with my Khadorians my hopes are that my painting skillz will have developed to an acceptable level so that I finally can move on to my Space Wolves with a good sense about it!
So for today there will be some WIP pictures of the Khadorians that's been painted this far. There will also be some WIP pictures of a to be Delaque leader, converted from a Delaque heavy, from these pictures you'll hopefully get a reason why you should get a rotating tool (IE a Dremel or something similar). However helpful tools might be it doesn't cure stupidity though. As you will see on the picture below I got two delaque heavvies. And that's because the first one I bought had a severed left arm so I bought another one and thought "hmmm, I can use the severed one for a leader conversion some day". And suddenly one day (yesterday) I got the urge to start converting my leader, but it wasn't until I was about to finish the maiming with my Dremel that I noticed that I had started converting the wrong model... Well, I'm quite satisfied with the result and what else was there to do other than to laugh out loud at my stupidity!
My Kossites, with almost all basecolours are applied and they have been washed, but most of the highlighting still needs to be done plus the basing.
My Widowmakers, with most base colors applied, but no washing and no high-lightening, so there are still some to do...
And finally my Delaque leader and the severed heavy (though you probably won't see the severed part of the arm). To remove the arm was actually quite easy, and my dremel-skillz ain't especially 1337 either since I just got my Dremel some months ago. So, if I can do it, its probably quite easy! The Cy-tech arm is supposed to look somewhat quirky and steam-punkyish, I'll add some tubes and rivets, not to forget a hand(!). I'm not sure if I should add something to the head/face so that it doesn't look that much like the heavies twin brother. Any suggestions/feedback are welcome

The best way to do it would be to give him a new head. You totally could pull it off.
edit: a friend's advice on differentiating identical models:
Thirsty Daddy;133641 wrote:Alright, I assembled some more. Just thought it'd be cool to show how I'm trying to make identical models look a little different. I got a lot of Heavy Bolter weapon loaders, and here's most of them. Two got backpacks and beards to become veterans. One guy got a scope and binoculars to look a bit techy. Another got a Marauder head and a Kroot bit and some hairy weapon sling to look like a savage dude. Another kept the Catachan head, and I gave him a canteen and a second big knife. Because two big knives on your belt is more Catachan than one big knife on your belt.
10 models are currently PIP and getting close to done, so pictures of them will come in a while I guess.

Yeah I thought about it and that's probably the best way of doing it. And your friends minis looks great, I actually thought those were all different minis at first! So headswap it might be, but I think It's the heavy that will loose the head since he's already somewhat battered and bruised.
Thanks for the feedback!

Back for small update! I have been working on a range of projects since last time. I talked some class-mates and some others into trying Necromunda (well, some actually talked themselves into it) and since I got couple of gangs (Orlocks, Cawdor, Delaque, Goliaths, Ratskin Renegades and Scavvies) I told them they could use my minis. But all of them aren't in a playable condition so to make them playable is one of my projects at the moment. Right now I'm restoring some of Q0rbins old Cawdor juves, battered by intense gaming back in the days, plus converting the Delaque leader I've showed in my last post. Then I'll start basing the gangs and perhaps painting them in some base colors as well. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of this work yet since my girlfriend forgot our camera at her sisters place this weekend.
Apart from that, I have magnetized two of my Khador warjacks using 5mm rare earth magnets, and that I do have pictures of ! It's one of my first magnetizing-work (the first being my Delaque leader) and it was quite fun to do, so I'm thinking of moving on to my SW-tanks. Will see about that, but its a possible maybe!
I'm working in a kind of slow pace ATM, thats partly because I have so many projects going on and I have a hard time focusing on one of them. But I also had a hard time finding any inspiration and motivation for some time now, so I'm driven more of some kind of sens of duty or of pertinacity than anything else right now. And on top of that is School and a lack of time (but who doesn't have a lack of time, and other commitments demanding attention). But hopefully I'll snap out of it soon so that I can get back to business!
Here you have a Destroyer and a Juggernaut from the battlegroup-box. The Juggernaut (the one with paint on it) has its shoulders glued while the Destroyer has them magnetized (thus making it more positionable, haven't decided what's best).
Here you can see how I put the magnets. I followed a youtube-tutorial, just google "khador warjack magnetized" or something similar and you'll find it.

Hi!
I played my first two games of Warmachine yesterday and it went fairly well! One loss and one victory and then i played against two of the most experienced players in the local gaming association (they have played since Mk 1 so I guess they are fairly experienced)!
And this is the list i used:
Sorscha
Destroyer
Juggernaut
Kayazy Assasins (full)
Kayazy Assasin Underboss
Widowmakers
Marksman
Kossite Woodsmen
Manhunter
Kell Bailoch
The tactic is to have my assasins and manhunter sneaking up to the enemy doing loads of damage to all infantry when they get there with the possibillity to walk through other models to go for "the kill", widowmakers, marksman, Kell and Destroyer picking off any threats at distance while my Kossites are coming in from behind not being that much of a threat but enough to distract my opponent. I one game my Kossites almost killed my opponents warcaster (1 box left) on the 2nd round and eventually won the game for me (in a way). A really fun game, try it if you haven't already!

OK, back for another update after a little hiatus and this time I actually got some Space Wolves to show you! I will also reveal my latest project, an appropriate reaction to this would be something like "why c0un7, do you start ANOTHER project when you'r constantly whining about not having enough time and to much to do as it is!!! ", and to that I could only say, because obviously I like to torment myself, and there is nothing I can do about it!
I did however realize one thing as I looked through my thread, I did state a while ago that there would be no more old (2nd ed) minis, but looking at my assembled/ wip minis the ratio is 22 old vs 11 new, so I guess that statement was somewhat premature! All my vehicles are new though, but still...
And while at least I find this comeback very intriguing it is just a short hello before another longer break since I, as I expalined in my Necromunda P&M blog, will be heading back to my hometown where I'll be working all summer and I will not be able to bring much in the way of miniatures or tools & modelling supplies. So my next post in this blog will probably be sometime in late August or early September. By then I'll hopefully have bought my Thunderwolves, the center pillar of my army, and will be able to finish the first phase of my Space Wolf Army (1500 pts)!
And what have I been doing then, and what is this mystery project of mine!? Well I have mostly done some standard work, finished 4 Gray Hunters and almost finished another 3, 6 out of these 7 minis are old 2nd ed metal Grey Hunters with arms and weapons mostly from the new plastic sets. And here they are!
This is the one gray hunter (nr 16) not based on the old GHs. The legs are repositioned Khorn Zerker-legs, not entirely sure how those turned out, the rest of the parts come from the new SW-box or an vanilla marine box.
This the three finished GHs (nr 17, 18, 19) based on the old metal GHs. The guns still have some nasty mold lines and even chaos icons and will be replaced once I decide to paint them. Haven't decided whether I'll give them holstered knifes as well, to represent their ccws. If anyone wonder why non of my GHs carries a Bolt pistol it's because I still live in the 3rd ed world when GHs had true grit, which I believe is an awesome idea hence my GHs still fire their bolters single handed when needed to (not that these chaps represent this though).
These next GHs (nr 20, 21, 22) are all WIPs. To give the GH packs more life I'm constantly toying with different ideas and poses so that I don't just do the same two or three poses ten times over (which would result in a quite static looking army) and working with these old metal minis that is sometimes a bit of a challenge. So here I'm trying to do two marines in the process of reloading their bolters and another that is prepared for an incoming enemy having drawn his knife! The magazines will be elongated, and the there are some repositioning of hand and arms on the "beaky"-dude. As for the knife guy there is still some work on the knife handle as well as making an empty sheath for the knife.
So how about this mysterious new project! Well since I saw the cover of the 2nd ed rules book for the first time, in like -95 as me and my brother opened the 40k 2nd ed box, I have always wanted a small Crimson Fists Rogue Trader force! I just love those "beaky" marines, and I find that cover truly awesome, probably my nr 1 favorite GW art! And the other week or so I decided the time is now! So I started to buy some minis, at first it was just meant to be just a couple of them but it soon got out of hand an I now got 17 RT metal troopers, 1 RT librarian, 1 RT chaplain, 3 RT scouts (2 more on their way) and there are more coming, 17 RT plastic troopers, 1 RT Land Raider and 1 RT predator... I'll bring some of these as I head for my home town and will hopefully have some painted minis to show you by the end of the summer! And here are some of them (the rest got stored away awaiting the long journey home prior to this picture)!
Thanks for the visit!
Any comments and feedback are more than welcome as usual!

Ok, summer's almost over and I'll soon be able to commit to some painting and modeling. I thought that I would be able to get more done during the summer than I actually have but there have been some progress. I have tried three different ways of painting Crimson Fists in search for an easy and fast technique which still looks nice! And I believe that I have succeeded, I have, actually, for the first time in my life painted a space marine that I'm truly satisfied with! So without further ado lets move on to what you can see in the picture!
First and foremost, these are not fully painted, the only finished part is the armor and even that is painted somewhat sloppy. The marine to the right in the picture is painted using the trial displayed on GWs website and looks imo a bit one-dimensional. I might have got it all wrong but it just doesent do it for me, no depth no nothing! So over the the marine in the middle which is painted using Catattafish youtube trial (a guy whose youtube site is well worth a visit), and while I like the result I find it somewhat dark which gets us to the dude on the left which is painted using the latter trial but one shade lighter, so to speak. Starting with regal blue (instead of necron abyss), first highlight with 50/50 regal blue and ultramarines blue, second highlight using pure ultramarines blue, third highlight using 50/50 ultramarines blue and space wolves gray and final highlights using pure space wolves gray finishing with asurmen blue wash. This gives me an easy way of painting my CFs which imo looks great considering how easy and fast it all went (thanks Catattafish!)! Thoughts and feedback are more than welcome as usual!

Nice to see you heading back to dakkaland c0un7.
Certainly prefer your choice of those schemes, although I think the middle guy would still fit in. Classic minis by the way
